Story They had 12 players leave the program after last season. I can't find any info on who they found to come in but they won their opener in overtime.
I also can't find a betting line.

Leading scorer for them last night was a returner, 6'3" guard, Christian Tucker. 18 pts, 8 assists.
Trey Edmonds, 6' 9" 240 lb junior. 15 pts, 8 boards, Transferred in from Utah Tech
Carlton Linguard, 6'11", 215, 12 pts, 10 boards, 2 blocks, came from K-State
Dre Fuller, 6'5" 220, 10 pts, 7 rebounds, came from Central Florida
Isaiah Wyatt, 6'4", 10 pts, 6 boards, 2 assists, from parts unknown
Adante" Holman, 6'0" 160, 8 pts, 2 rebounds, from Texas-Rio Grand Valley
PJ Carter, 6'5" 175, scored 8 in the opener with 2 rebounds and came from the Campbell Camels
They do have a 6'9" 240 guy from The Netherlands, who had a rebound in his 6 minutes of action

There you go, my friend.

An aside: coached by Steve Henson. Played at Kansas State and was the 44th overall pick in the 1990 draft. Played 6 years in the league.
Yes that Steve Henson on the Lon Kruger Kansas State team that lost 86-75 in a first round game to the Gophers. Henson was the 2nd leading scorer behind Willie Burton's 29
(I'm now going to emerge from the rabbit hole.)

Is that Parts Unknown University?

Looking at the box score and Ray's breakdown...we should be in good shape.
They do have some scoring balance but maybe nobody is a threat to get 25 or more unlike the first two opponents.
They shot 36% at home. They won in overtime with the help of 35 free throws.
They took 11 less shots and got out rebounded by 9.
On the plus side they only had 7 turnovers in game one and it went overtime. That's impressive.
But, I think maybe we can cruise? Their first game on the road, all new players etc.

Yes, I remember him. He was a very good 3 point shooter. I remember seeing him in a couple of NBA games. They would bring him into a game briefly as a 3 point specialist.

I also can't find a betting line.

I'm gonna guess the Gophers are favored by 11.5-12.5 or so based on the line against BC

OK gang, help me out.

back in the old AWA pro wrestling days, there was a wrestler who Mean Gene would always introduce as being "from parts unknown."

I can't remember who it was and a google search didn't turn up anything.

I'm pretty sure it was a heel (or villain if you don't speak wrestling)

So they replaced almost the entire roster from last season. Is their coach tight with Deion Sanders?

The missing link

Sounds like an easy dub. First game on peacock 🦚
Peacock illiterate. Any help you can provide on this feathered friend is appreciated - thanks.

Is this a steaming channel I need to subscribe to?

Saw our top time is 7:30 EDT, OSU @7 and The Iowa at 8 pm - all on Peacock on Friday nite . So, is there a way to know if I get the right game or are there multiple peacocks?

It's NBC's streaming service, I believe it's 5.99/mo to sign up. I will be a first time user as well so not sure how they broadcast sports to local markets, but since it's streaming it's possible you can choose from any of the 3 games to watch just like if it were on BTN+.

And also, weight unknown, too.

There are multiple viewing options once you sign in, just like on other streaming services. It's included at no additional charge if you are a Comcast customer.

A lovely streaming service with an odd mix of sports and NBC shows. At the least, the production value should be much better than BTN + but the announcers won't be nearly as entertaining.

As an aside. I play bridge online and when someone makes a mistake I like to quote Wally Carbo "there will be fines and suspentions". That line and parts unknow are two of my favorite AWA memories.

No one seems to remember Igor who had a finishing move called the big splash. Anyone here remember him?

the more I think, it could have been the Super Destroyers tag-team who were from "Parts Unknown."
speaking of AWA quotes:
"that hold is barred - and it should be banned!"
