All Things 2023-2024 Minnesota Timberwolves In-Season Thread

I admit I was wrong about the first round. I thought Phoenix would win in 6 or 7 games. But the Wolves played smarter basketball. (and having Grayson Allen out did hurt Phoenix).

I am slightly more optimistic about Denver. the teams split 2-2 in the regular season. Joker and Murray will get their points, so once again, it's a case of the Wolves' depth vs Denver's big guns.

I do think this series will go 6 or 7 games. I don't see either team sweeping or winning in 5 games.

Wolves absolutely need to win 1 of the first 2 games in Denver.

Wolves in six, as the Lakers played the Nugs tough and I think they’ll be flat in one of the first two games..

The wolves must rebound. I can't tell you how many times the Lakers could have taken over that game last night, and in other games....but denver would miss, and porter, Joker, or Gordon would get the rebound and kick it out to someone. It seemed like they drained the wide open 3 every time.

Finch undergoes surgery tomorrow.

Glad he's having the surgery right away. No idea if he also damaged his patella but I'd be pretty surprised if he's in Denver three days post surgery. At that point he's either going to be in too much pain or too loopy from the narcotics to be of much use to anybody. When I had the injury I decided to reduce the amount of oxy I was taking on the second day post surgery. A couple of hours later I was screaming into a pillow from the pain. That ended that little narcotics control experiment.

It's a tough injury with a challenging recovery, especially at his age. Booker is a dirty player.

Today is the 26th anniversary of Jeff Van Gundy grabbing Morning’s leg. Yes, the association is better that these fights don’t happen anymore and yes, I miss the physicality of basketball from that era.

Embid, Maxey and Oubre are all out there. Not sure how healthy they are but they're out to a 10-2 start over the Knicks.

I don't. If I want physicality and drama, I'll watch pro wrestling.

Loved Oakley.

Liked watching him play, no doubt about it. But not a good person. I know someone who does premise liability law for some of the casino properties and he has been involved in more than one incident at some of the Vegas properties. Tsk, tsk, tsk....

To be blunt, we planted the seed for success last year against DEN. As long as we don't bogart the ball on offense, we should roll...especially with Murray's chronic calf injury.
Put McDaniels on him and then when NAW comes in, he takes Murray.

Make Murray's life a living hell in this series is how you win it.

Finch was at practice today. One person suggested Garza carry him around like Hodor carried that kid around in Game of Thrones.
