Alabama offers scholarship to eighth grader

"We met with Coach Saban after lunch, and he talked to Dylan about his future and what he needed to do to achieve his potential as a student and as a football player," Dylan's father Edward Moses Jr told AL.com. "When he said he was offering Dylan a scholarship, we asked a lot of questions just to make sure we knew exactly what he meant. Coach Saban said the Alabama staff believes Dylan has a chance to be the best player in the country in the Class of 2017 and they were ready to offer him a scholarship. That's when the fireworks started going off in our heads."

What makes this all a bit crazier is that Alabama isn't even Dylan's first scholarship offer. LSU actually offered Moses a scholarship last summer before he even started in the eighth grade.

Go Gophers!!

With all the stupid recruiting rules, you'd think there would be one that would set an minimum age requirement for offers

Wow, this guy would stack up favorably with a lot of the guys at the combine...

I don't think I've ever seen a middle school highlight tape before either.

First, he is a man amongst boys in that video clip. He looks like he should be playing college ball; unreal. Secondly, I hope he has strong parental guidance, because with his talent he is going to be treated like a God and live in an alternate reality. However, that alternate reality can change real quickly if he makes some bad choices. This kid has unreal potential, I hope that he is able to realize it and we are able to see him reach his full potential.

He'll probably enroll next year and qualify academically with standard eighth grade coursework.

Isn't that called robbing the cradle? A few years from now junior high kids/middle school will be heavily recruited and offered scholarships! Give me a *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#ing break!
