Somebody in the U communications department needs to realize that all of the stadium concerns and activities should be addressed in one email. I have more gophersports emails than viagra emails this morning. The more they flood, the more likely it is they will start to inadvertently end up in spam folders rather than inboxes.

Complaining about e-mails addressing complaints about the fantastic, new, on-campus, open-air stadium now? Wow....

Following up after looking at my own e-mails, 2 of those messages were sent to specific groups, one based on the fact that I have a st paul parking lot pass (not applicable to many/most ticket holders) and another telling me which gate I should enter through, which differs obviously for different season ticket holders. It might seem like a lot of e-mails but they are erring on the side of providing too much information, which is fine with me.

NateDawgUM is complaining about something? I am shocked.

+1

Complaining about them trying to respond about complaining.....I love it.:cry:

I got the St. Paul Shuttle email too, and I don't have a pass for over there.

all this stuff in my inbox is getting out of hand

perhaps I'll send them an email to complain...

Nate is right though and it is a basic stretegy for communications- get all the concerns in one e-mail (or even as a hard copy letter attached to photo mail-out) and it looks like you have a coordinated strategy rather than hastily reacting to individual issues. It is not hard to look like you are a professional organization. Unfortunately, it is even easier to look like you don't know what you are doing.

Headaches like these were to be expected and the U has a HUGE amount of goodwill concerning TCF- everyone needs to realize it will all be fine.

I understand the point. But sending one e-mail would mean customizing a pretty good size mix of e-mails in less than a week. The strategy they used means they look at their list, identify what e-mails they need (i.e. Gate A list, Gate B list, STP parking list, etc), and send them out. To send one e-mail to each account they'd need a "Gate E/STP parking/overall fix list" e-mail and a "Gate B, fix it list e-mail", etc, etc. It would make it much more complicated to send.

The way the did it assures the highest level of accuracy and communication of info given the short timeframe they had to pull this all together.

Each e-mail had its own subject line ... for those whose concern(s) lie elsewhere, pressing that ol' <Delete> key takes care of it.

Maybe it would be more of an issue if I was relying on dial-up and it took a long time to get my e-mail downloaded.

BTW, I suspect it's pretty difficult to know which ticket-holders need access to the handicapped shuttles since they serve both west bank and St Paul.

wow.......look at this.....complaining about the resolution of complaints......can the U ever win with some of you?! honest to God.....

:cry::cry::cry::cry:

sorry - double post (ironically in a thread about too many e-mails)

I'm throwing my tickets in the trash!!!!!

They made me redeem a coupon for a free book chronicling Gopher football history....why can't they just mail it to me!?!?!?!??!?!

Then they have the nerve of mailing me a print of the inaugural game 3-4 days following said game and what.....I have to have it framed myself?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

AND NOW....TO TOP IT ALL OFF....I HAVE TO READ FOUR...COUNT THEM.....FOUR EMAILS DEDICATED TO MAKING GAME DAY BETTER FOR EVERYONE.

I will be spending my Saturdays at Macalester Stadium. Macalester will come to your house and personally pick you up, drive you to the stadium and then carry you to your seat. Same deal postgame.

What if you have to pee during the game?
