The parallel with Bowling Green and Florida Atlantic vs. USC and New Mexico State doesn't work. The Gophers were expected to beat both Bowling Green and Florida Atlantic in 2007, but the Gophers were heavy underdogs against USC.

Playing NDSU both years mean nothing. And the 8 Big Ten games is nonsense.

It was only meant to be a general comparison - so your desperate attempt to excuse the very obvious parallelism is denied.

I think you'll at least have to admit that it's very weird how close the two seasons are shaped. Maybe the U beats NDSU and wins 3-4 Big Ten games this season. If that happens, then fine they weren't really that close. But if the U loses to NDSU next sat and then goes on to drop all of the Big Ten games - that's pretty freaky!

The parallels are really strained at best. Many things might we freaky if they happened, but they aren't freaky until they happen.

The two seasons are not comparable because Jerry Kill in 2011 has significantly more talented players to work with than Tim Brewster in 2007.

Thought I would go ahead and update this, given the recent continuance of the obviously parallel seasons.

I do think the Gophers will win a couple Big Ten games this year.
