If he's a legitimate deep ball threat, which it sounds as though he is, his presence will help our other receivers find daylight ... and will help the running game by keeping the safeties honest. Even if he doesn't make 50 catches.

I think they need competition and they need to build depth for the coming years. PJ is on it.

Guys who are great athletes but need some development are learning, more quickly now, that helmet schools don’t do development. They just reload. Come to Minnesota to develop!

Great transfer class so far. Only guy I can’t figure out is Jai’Onte McMillan. Low rated out of HS; low rated as a transfer. PJ obviously saw something. Hope we get to see it.

Deacon could run or lead block in the wildcat. 6’3” 260 is a big QB.

I don’t think Deacon Hill would come here to be a back-up to Brosmer and then to Lindsay. But he has a wealth of experience (save the snickers!) and is a great teammate. And might be a wildcat threat. And knows the Wisconsin and Iowa playbooks!

Actually, a lot of respect for Deacon Hill among Iowa fans. He is considered to be a great teammate. And he does have strengths. Got crushed by Iowa’s offensive dysfunction.

So, is Brendan Sullivan—who just entered the portal (scoop: Maxy)—going to move from Northwestern over to Iowa? Seems like a good spot for him, especially if Cade McNamara still isn’t back 100%.

I guess Cade McNamara must be healthy, finally ... Or the new OC at Iowa doesn't want a 260lb QB. Iowa definitely will be hitting the portal for another QB.

I think the Gophers tried to find one. But I'm sure they weren't going to settle (this year) for another possible-non-impact transfer like Selig. They tried to get LB transfer Larry Worth--a D'Vondre Campbell body type who had great stats--but he chose Arkansas. If you look at the portal...

If he’s 6’7” and athletic, maybe a TE in the future? Offensive tackle might be as realistic as Edge for him. Good project to work with.
