Outstate teams have won 5 of the 10 titles in the current 7-class version of 5A. That's when counting STMA and Elk River as metro. There are roughly twice as many metro 5A teams as outstate.

I really wish the Big Ten had continued with the Holiday Bowl. Perfect city to travel to, or if watching on TV you get a game treated like a big event by a network. Plus 2016 there is one of my favorite Gopher games.

Interesting stakes in the Apple Cup. It's a conference semifinal-by-proxy, with Utah advancing via a Huskies win and Oregon backing in if Wazzu prevails. Not sure if I've ever seen that in any sport.
