When we would have given anything to beat Bucky but we went into the game feeling like we had no shot? Unfortunately, I do. Went to a lot of those home games in person and it was a sad state of affairs.
Despite the many frustrations and disappointments of this season, let's recognize that...
Played 1200 defensive snaps over 3 years at GSU, including starting most of the past 2 seasons. Will have 2 left to play.
Sounds like a very physical CB. FWIW, better PFF numbers last year across the board than Brown on a TON more snaps.
Former 4-star Markevious Brown (from Ole Miss) on campus for the outside CB spot. Played 12 games for Ole Miss last year with 19 tackles (I believe). 3 years to play 2. Competing transfer offers from Wiscy, Indiana, Purdue, Pitt and BC.
Another unnamed transfer for the nickel spot behind Jack...
Played 4 years at FCS Elon. Named All-CAA the past two years. 1 year to play. Should compete for the starting outside CB spot right away. Very solid pickup.
This news started to come out last week elsewhere. PJ confirmed tonight that Stapp has left the team. Word is he is likely retiring from football.
Expect the Gophers to be hard after a couple transfer CBs come May.
From ESPN+:
"I'm focusing on the other team in that matchup -- Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan and running back Mohamed Ibrahim will have huge games. Morgan is doing everything he can this season to work his way into late-round consideration, completing 77.2% of his passes for 886 yards...
The over/under for regular season wins for the boys is 7.5 with Vegas - which I absolutely LOVE the over. Two months ago, it was +100 (even money) for the over. I guess a lot of people also loved the over, because now it's up to -125 or -130 depending which site you use. Not sure I love such...
Couldn't find a thread on this game when I searched. Apologies if I missed one.
Anyone going to the game in East Lansing? Public tickets through MSU just went on sale today! Just snagged 2 in L8 (about 40 yard line) for only $100 each. Middle sections are getting thin though.
A friend of mine...
Tony's tweets and pics in the other thread are great, but hoping for some additional perspectives.
If so, care to share any details, highlights or stories from the day?
Has to be Ben's best high school recruit yet! At least in terms of quality of other offers: Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue, Ohio State, Virginia, USC. Lots of quality tourney teams there!
Welcome aboard, Cam!
Saw a way-too-early mock draft for 2023 and it got me thinking...which of our Gophers have the best chance to hear their names called by the NFL next April?
JMS - could be one of the best centers in college football this coming season; should have a good shot in the pros.
Tyler Nubin - if he...
Looks like Chris Smith Jr - DT from Harvard - is on an official this weekend. First Team All-Ivy League this past season. One year to play. Could be another nice addition for our DL depth!
