Any shuttle bus riders miss a big chunk of the game? Line was about 10x or more longer than I've ever seen it. Lots of folks walked the transitway. Good old U was still loading the busses one at a time.
Since Tubby Smith arrived at Minnesota, he has 32 Big Ten regular season conference wins (never over .500). During that same time period, Ed DeChellis has 28 Big Ten regular season conference wins (one season over .500). Smith has two NCAA appearances, both losses. (Left out of the...
It's that time of year again--football season ticket renewal! Time to dig through old emails, rummage through old post-it notes, examine scribble on business cards and napkins, etc. in an attempt to remember my ultra-safe constantly re-issued gophersports.com password. It's really nice to know...
This performance by the seniors is pretty poor. Westbrook had a nice first half, but turned into his typical chucking self when it mattered most. Bostick had a few nice hoops but then had a nice stretch of 'give up the three, turnover, foul'. Johnson has missed everything down the stretch...
If Johnson is going to whine about not being named to Big Ten first team (I agree that he should have been on it), then he might want to learn how to stay on the floor. It is difficult to be an elite defender when you are sitting next to Tubby for long stretches due to your consistently high...
Would Iverson start at a mid-level MIAC school? His plus-minus today must be record setting.
Missed Dunk, Turnovers, Bad D, he's really outdoing himself. The only thing that is missing is his Sunday Special--the offensive goal tending.
Tubby--please learn how to diagram a decent play--that was a complete joke.
I guess the good news is he'll be able to work on that skill in a nice NIT run. Tough loss today.
I'm pretty sure they didn't play it the entire half. Played it before the game, and after the half was over, but never during the half. I guess this is due to a combo of bad band direction and the continued emasculation of Williams arena at the hands of word scrambles and free throw contests.
Another so-so day for Iverson. I just don't see this guy being a decent Big Ten player. Rarely gets a loose ball. Misses gimmes. Gets blocked by shorter players. Early on last year, I was pretty hopeful he'd be a real contributor on a good team, but I'm not so sure anymore.
Other than...
This is getting out of hand. We are paying big money to watch this team. First, we get one of the worst non-conference home schedules in the history of the Big Ten at prices as high or higher than any other team in the history of the Big Ten. I was hoping that a nice looking incoming class...
