I read a lot of college hoops takes on the internet, but Pilgrim's recent comments are some of the worst I think I've ever read. Thought it was parody at first. He's the skip bayless of gopherhole.

That makes about as much sense as AK being the 3rd worst or whatever it was. Mertz has a lot of tools but never seemed to be able to put it together. He's fine against the Illinois State's of the world, but any team with a decent defense befuddles him.

I believe prior to last season Wisconsin had the 9th highest winning percentage in college football since 2000. I think the general success of the program is also factoring into preseason rankings.
