Also, no one here cares about NDSU.
I beg to differ. I like NDSU. My dad played football for NDSU, and I'm forever going to be a fan of their teams. And I will discuss them if I so please on this board, and I would hope that the board would allow conversation about another team once in a while as well. Lord knows it's better than eight threads a day regarding where Tubby's headed next, or the perpetual hatred of Myron and Dave Lee. In fact, I sometimes wonder whether people know there are other schools out there besides Minnesota.
The fact that nobody likes NDSU here is not because of the posters here, but rather because no matter what happens from now on, the Gopher football team lost to them in 2008. Lost to a 1-AA team. And any Gopher fan will never live it down, at least when the game comes up. Doesn't matter from here on out, it's never going to change.
How do I know? Because that's sports. Talk to a Holy Cross hockey fan; the same thing will happen. Or, bring up Appalachian State to a Michigan fan, or Hampton to an Iowa State fan. People love the upset. It's part of the very lifeblood of the game. If not, nobody would talk about the Miracle on Ice, or how Joe Namath beat the Colts, or Texas Western, or North Carolina State.
It's too bad that some have to rub it in, but it's also too bad that we can't talk about a pretty good team not far from here, just because there are hard feelings. Further, if a team like Drake came up to Minnesota and won, would we have to run Snowman off the board because of it? I think not...at least I'd hope not.
It's a Minnesota fan's cross to bear...learn to live with it, because it's not going away.
