Shocking a police manpower shortage. No doubt some who cant understand why were also screaming at police or calling for their defunding. Ridiculous.

Just another example of an issue
that would be a plus election issue for Trump if an unbiased press.

A different thread explored the thought of getting a trump sign.
Think i might get a support the police sign, but maybe would end up with property destroyed from that as well. But hey, 9 unarmed blacks killed last year most of them deserving, Jason Whitlock has it right.

Diehard may be referring to this email:

The Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) told residents they should “be prepared” to hand over their phones, wallets, and purses to robbers.

The MPD has reported a 46 percent increase in carjackings and a 36 percent increase in robberies compared to this same time last year, according to WCCO.

Police in the city’s Third Precinct alone have received more than 100 reports of robberies and 20 reports of carjackings in just the last month.

Officials are now telling residents to be ready and willing to comply with the demands of criminals in an email sent to Third Precinct residents.

“Be prepared to give up your cell phone and purse/wallet,” the police said in their email, a copy of which was obtained by Alpha News. The email said citizens should listen to criminals and “do as they say.”

The message warned that “some victims have been maced, dragged, assaulted, and some threatened with a gun.”

In addition to emailing Minneapolis residents, the police have circulated the directions via local media. KTSP, Bring Me The News, and other outlets have all reposted the MPD’s directives word for word.

Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said his department has “redeployed internal resources and intelligence gathering” to combat what he calls an “uptick” in crime, Bring Me The News reported.

Despite this, innocent people have been affected by the recent rash of crime. After several men tried to rob a woman in broad daylight, police said a Good Samaritan rushed to intervene and was shot in the process.

A 99-year-old woman was also assaulted in her home by a man who broke in and wrapped her head in a blanket. Despite her age and the directions to comply with the criminal’s demands, Evelyn Johnson boldly warded off her attacker.

“He thought he was just going to cover my mouth and smother me, but that didn’t happen. I fought him. We wrestled for quite a while, according to all my bruises,” she told KTSP.

Johnson said the suspect eventually shoved her into her bathroom, stealing her iPad and $40.

Minneapolis was built into a once great city by other people. They were proud Americans. Current residents have rebuilt it into Mogadishu. Congrats, you have destroyed the town.

This afternoon a produce farmer came up to me and said, your from Minnesota, aren't you? Sheepishly I admitted that I had been from there a very long time ago. He said, look at this tweet from the Minneapolis PD! He read to me the proper way to surrender to criminals in Minnesota. You are the laughing stock of America. Minneapolis is no longer a fit place to live. The new "Minnesota Nice." Losers.

Most of those shootings unquestionably legitimate. Better?

Instructive, but not unusual, that that is the best response you can summon.
Oh not the best, but the easiest. Imagine a group of people you care about, and wonder if it would be OK if most if them killed by the state were deserving. No trial mind you. And some, well, oops. That’s some callous stuff.

I will join you in mourning the possibly 3 or 4 who died unjustly at hands of police in 2019.

Will you join me in mourning the 48 cops who were killed? What about the epidemic of black on black murder, certainly including little children and teens? Mid June in Chicago alone was already over 200 for the year. Have you seen pictures of the little kids who were murdered?
Have u heard the interviews of the parents wondering why their kids' lives dont matter. Heartbeaking.

You will have none of it. For you it is all about the possible 3 or 4.
Sadly, the media is no better.

You can quote me if you like, but I’d like you to not write my opinion for me. It’s really only fair. But if you think four out of nine is cool, and these actual words are on this thread, I’m going to say that’s not OK. 45 percent seems a bit rich to sweep under the rug, and we should wonder if we can do better. What threshold is OK for you?

Nearly half of unarmed black people shot by police did not deserve to die. Am I misquoting you? We will just let the unarmed and deserved pieces alone, for the moment.

What kind of math is that? Your use of percentage is totally misleading and nonsensical.

Again, the numbers speak for themselves as shown in my previous post. Am not surprised that you see it differently.

I had to take a break from my neighborhoods crime watch. Too depressing. I started to naturally feel like things were getting better only to be shocked back into reality when I heard gun shots a block to the east from me. Found out that five rounds were fired and a few entered a house (no one hurt). I found out that several people have been shot over the weekend and several more bullets going into homes and cars. One person was killed while sitting on his porch. Turns out that some a-holes stole some cars and drove around firing their guns. No deterrents means that crime goes way up. Again, thanks to all of you who think less cops is a good idea.

There is just no way you can make a police brutality case nationwide using numbers killed. Your case is more easily made by pointing to anecdotal evidence, but even that is difficult.

I think for righties it would be much easier to get on board with your concern if your concern coincided with a call for responsibility in the black community regarding situations such as in chicago. Otherwise it just seems to us like elites using a minority community for a power grab rather than black lives mattering.

Yeah, i talked to a 16 year old son of a state patrol officer today. Said his dad is really discouraging him from becoming a cop in light of recent events. In a fair world, would think the left suffers for all this come election day.

Less policing isn’t working?

I agree that you have reasons to be embarrassed but being from Minnesota isn't one of them.
