So I see that Walz is extending his powers for another 30 days. This time based on 38% "community infection rate." Can someone explain what this important parameter is that the governor uses to extend his powers?

I see that today we have 8 deaths - 6 from nursing home facilities............
THis is explained here. Basically the idea is they're tracking the number of people who caught it in Minnesota without knowing how.

Many cancers/diseases are preventable with proper health and nutrition, yet the government won't step in and combat that.

But they'll totally step in and shut down gyms to try and prevent healthy people from getting a disease that isn't dangerous to them.
I addressed this earlier in the page:

FWIW - my brother is a coach and substitute teacher at a school district in SE MN.

Their High School is going to distance learning. Apparently, 1 student tested positive for covid. But, that 1 student had been in close contact with 10 teachers, so all of those teachers have to quarantine.
And, that left the district without enough teachers to conduct class in person, so they're going to distance learning. My brother is the Cross-country coach. Their last two meets - conference and Section meets - are cancelled. his boys' team was undefeated this year. he is not happy.
How is it ten teachers were within 6 feet of this one student for over 15 minutes without masks or other barriers? That boggles the mind. Are they using some other rationale? Why are teachers not distancing from high school students?

If you live in Minnesota, gyms are open. You just outed yourself, fatty.
I go to the gym 5-6 days a week, maskless, working out next to strangers, yet COVID hasn't killed me. Nor have I even gotten sick. Probably because I'm healthy. Nice try though.

There are other areas of the country where indoor gyms are still not open, see California.

JTF has blinders and earmuffs on for any morbidly and mortality not directly linked to primary COVID-19. That is abundantly clear. How far are you going to go to control health outcomes of citizens that would literally rather lose their limbs, go blind than give up twinkies, burritos, or a sedentary lifestyle? One life is too many.

I do too but I feel like I'm rolling the dice at times.

Yeah - Walz started tagging that "stat" for reasons last time. Basically, if the goal is to keep power, then they simply need to "not be able to trace" the root cause in a certain percentage. Both Stupid and Dumb. Par for the course with Walz.

I agree but add masks, because why not. And encourage wearing N95 or KN95 masks. I also think some indoor gathering limits are prudent beyond that let it rip.

I am fine with some controls, just got my kids into private school and I don't want it shut down.
How is it that our N95 supply is still not sufficient for everyone to have a couple this far into it?

Correct. Hospitalizations, deaths, then hospitalizations again, then hospital capacity, then cases, then positivity rate, now percentage of cases with unknown origin. Can't wait to see what's next. Nearly all cases are of unknown origin. Zero chance that 38% is accurate. Only difference is now they have a statistic that they can completely make up to fit their desired numbers, since the other metrics didn't cooperate.

South Dakota once again has worst COVID-19 surge in country

South Dakota has retaken the top spot for most COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people, according to the New York Times.

The state went from No. 2 to No. 1, passing North Dakota, for the coronavirus case trend data from the past seven days. South Dakota was also home to the most cases per 100,000 people in early September.

South Dakota has reported 3,517 cases in the past seven days ending Oct. 7 — 398 per 100,000 people. North Dakota has reported 395 cases per 100,000 people

Wait what? I have heard from Democrats that covid is only dangerous in America and it is because of Trump! You mean to tell me that this has spread around the world? Because I heard from Joe that Trump caused all 200,000 + deaths. Cmon on man!
We heard from you, IN THIS VERY THREAD, that it'll go away right after the election.

Now you're convinced the entire world is running a scam to defeat Trump?

I mean, I know everyone worldwide outside of Putin wants the US to elect a real president, bit c'mon...thats a pretty big con to keep quiet, dontchathink?

He said something he actually does do.
You said something that you actually don't do.
Do you get the difference?

China is very big on Joekamala!

Covid will not go away right after the election, Dem governors have assured that. We could have had what Sweden has.... instead we have the blue state blues.

What will go away after election is much of the fear about Covid, if Joekamala is elected. It will be replaced by media optimism that the therapeutics are now available and stats are now in the range of flu.

How do you know?

Its the exact same logic.

If you don't care thats fine but to somehow say your special and because of how special you are, you haven't gotten sick is just stupid

True story. Out in the western part of the US a ways back, in a very small town with two residents, one resident killed the other out of anger in a drunken dispute.

Murder rate in that town LEAPED to 50%. 50% murder rate!! Can you believe that??

So it's due to small sample size, eh? Here are the 10 smallest states. Guess which two have the most cases per capita? Maybe we should see what Vermont and Maine are doing.
