Not sure what the kneeling was about but if it was for the horror we saw on Wednesday I would welcome that.
Anyone else feeling sick like they did after 9-11? Yet it wasn't brought up that I heard during any of the NFL games this past weekend whereas 9-11 quite often.
Tough to compare almost 3000 innocent people died on 9/11. 5 died Wednesday with what appears to be 2 of the 5 were actually innocent. Both were atrocious nonetheless.
I didn’t watch any NFL last weekend But I’m surprised there wasn’t a bunch of pandering.

I’m going to get very controversial here. Don’t usually weigh in too seriously about real life stuff on gopherhole.

I am against:
Racism
Looting
Riots
Burning buildings
Murder
Theft
Hate

If you disagree with any of that, let me have it.
I second that. Seems obvious that the phrasing of the initial post on this thread was to troll—like, "Anyone else bothered by the fact that.... [insert highly controversial opinion]?"

That is true about the quick loss of life, but when you consider the long game of this Q/Trump movement it will hurt our country for a long time unless we unify and take steps now to put it to rest.

Even more important for our country is taking steps now to quash the marxist, socialistic movement that is taking over so much of society. The USA was formed to break free from those chains.

A good start would be to equally enforce ALL our laws equally across the board. Charge and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law the Capital criminals; as well as the rioters, looters, arsonists who committed crimes for months. No more select law enforcement.

Agree with you on law and order and application. There is a level of hate and anger i have never seen before. These two political parties are all about power at all cost. Glad to not be a part of it even though it leaves me without representation. After Covid restrictions we are going to be spending more of our time out of the country. Trump really hurt things with the approach of a bully, even when he did good things. Schiff, Pelosi and Shumer dealt with it with anger and hate. That mix of both parties behavior lead the country to where we are now. Not going to get better anytime soon. Listening is at a all time low.

The fact that you don't acknowledge that the unequal enforcement of our laws is precisely the reason they are kneeling and why we got here is the problem.

Keep kneeling please...

Its pretty sad that any basketball fan would not support these young men.
Support these you men by giving them free rides through college with tax dollars.

As a minority i believe they should be applied equally. Just like i think jobs and scholarships should be awarded on merit not skin color. One of the worst insults is to give a job to someone because of the extra melanin in their skin. I only want my merits to collect what is mine. These players kneeling together are united, they are communicating brothers. It is a good thing.

Many, many examples over the past decade where the opposite of your wish is happening. Hiring of unqualified people is becoming the norm in a lot of cases. Requirements. Witnesses it first hand.

And also prosecute the people with power that abuse that power. I'm sure you meant that as well correct? Political heads get a free pass when they do something wrong.

Les, the large majority of our country lies in the middle. I'm not too afraid of the people that want to have better education and health care for everyone. I don't think i'm going out on a limb here by saying the right wing/aryan/domestic terrorists that are well armed are the most dangerous thing in our country right now.

This is such a disappointing comment. You are indeed going out on a limb saying this. The truth is the most dangerous thing in the country is the fact that there is an agenda by a group of politicians and large corporations to silence anyone who disagrees with what they have to say. You can not even begin to argue otherwise.

So you are saying you are okay with groups like the proud boys and oath keepers but you are upset that Trump has been removed from Twitter, a private company that has rules for anyone that joins it?

Yes of course. When I see leaders of either party telling the masses what to do and then not even doing it themselves I am disgusted.

So true about the middle. I am a libertarian who has no representation and I believe the far right and the far left are equally divisive. I have friends who are moderate conservatives and moderate liberals who are all kind ,thoughtful and educated. They end to agree on more than they disagree but politicians never get there, they get filled with anger and hate over the disagreements. There is actually very little listening and trading between them and we pay them for this behavior !

Kneeling does a whole lot to help anything. Common sense time.
I know a team of players from all over, different pigmentation, different cultures that has a group of players that kneel supported by a group that stands with locked arms is solidarity in total support of each other. It does not have to be either or. It can be a mix of love and care for several ideas. The ones that stand are not for black lives matter, or blue lives matter but for human beings matter.

I consider myself to be a pretty patriotic guy who loves America. With all of our issues, still the best country to live in. I'm also not offended by people who kneel during the anthem as a way to call attention to some of the problems we have in this country. I know the kneeling has no more to do with disrespecting the flag than your Dr. telling you to lose some weight for your health being just an excuse to insult you by calling you fat.

STFU. This has to be a bit for a message board. You literally can't be this small-minded. Not after everything that happened in 2020. Even military vets, who defended our country with their lives, don't interpret it as disrespect.

I'm a veteran.

I also believe you can do what you want.

Spit on the flag, piss on it, I believe the Supreme Court even exonerated people for burning it.

Point is, I was part of a fighting force dedicated to defending the right of Americans to express their opinions. You know, Freedom of Speech.

You don't have to agree with it.

But you can't stop it.

And you should respect it.

I do.

Is unequal enforcement of our laws the reason that Keaepernick took a knee with pigs on his socks?

Spare us your bull$hit.

A lot of them do, actually.
