per Marcus:

Reggie Lynch’s foul trouble issues have plagued him his entire college career, but they’ve become a major problem in Big Ten Conference play this season.

The 6-foot-10 junior is a game-changer when he’s on the floor, but he has fouled out in four of five Big Ten games this season for the Gophers (15-3, 3-2), who are trying to bounce back Saturday at Penn State (10-7, 2-2) in State College, Pa.

Lynch, who averages 8.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and a conference-best 3.1 blocks, fouled out of Wednesday's 65-47 loss at Michigan State. He finished with a season-low two points, three rebounds and three turnovers in 17 minutes.

"We’ve looked at all the fouls," Pitino said. "Is it technique? Sometimes it’s just a matter of – just let it go. As much as we don’t want to give up a basket, be smart.”

Go Gophers!!
Those are the ones he really has to learn how to avoid, especially when he gets in foul trouble. You know coaches are going to keep going at him as much as possible trying to get him off the floor because he is a definite difference maker when he is out there. Just has to figure out a way not to pick up the weak fouls on plays when he really doesn't have a chance to make the play anyway. Give up the layup if it means staying on the court.

Reggie picks up a lot of dumb/frustration fouls after missing a shot or not getting a rebound. He needs to learn to not reach and make his fouls count (i.e. stopping a basket). Would be interesting to have data on how many fouls he actually gets when trying to block a shot-not nearly as many as he gets when reaching after a shot or rebound by the other team I would guess.

Reggie is an example of a player really only gets three fouls...the refs blow one on ya, and ya commit 1 stupid one...and the other 3 are real.
