Sorry for this duplicate thread. I didn't realize that a thread had been started earlier on this same subject.

I think that the thing that will e the most interesting going forward is the make-up of his staff. It doesn't sound from his interviews that he is locked in on bringing his entire staff and that some may stay at Northern Illinois which is to be expected. Recruiting is a different animal here than it is in the MAC in order to compete day in and day out with big boys. That requires a different type of recruiter. I don't believe anyone thinks that recruiting is his strong point and I'm OK with that. It does mean though that some of your staff better be. Does Maturi follow through on his promises about giving a big enough budget to hire a top notch staff of coaches as well as recruiters or does he go back to trying to do things on the cheap. He certainly is not paying Kill the money he was willing to pay a top name. Let's invest the savings in a staff that can develop, recruit and coach up like no one else.

What about any of the current coaches? Davis has done a nice job improving the o-line and is widely respected by his peers. How about some of the others.

How he puts together a staff, I believe is going to be the most important thing he does going forward and whether this decision is going to work or not. Let's hope he is up to the challenge and that he is going to be given both the opportunity and the resources to get that staff.

It's going to be Kill's call. I like the continuity that bringing his staff over will bring, they can hit the ground running. I don't want Maturi telling Kill who he should hire.

I'm not saying Maturi should be involved. I just want to make sure that Maturi follows through on his promise about providing tha funds necessary to putting together a top flight staff and then the opportunity for Kill to do it. After his reversal on a couple of his earlier quotes I want Maturi's feet held to the fire on this and not suddenly reverse himself and think that it's not necessary anymore.
