So when is enough? When will we be satisfied?

Just another example of the legions of daily examples of the facist left doing their best to shut down free speech. Their racism and hate speech can be overcome though. Looks like a big fail on their coordinated attack on Goya, a minority owned business that's focused on serving minority communities. The liberal's racism won't stand if we all take a stand against the liberals.

Since the Goya beans are all sold out, perhaps AOC could eat some Goodyear tires. Should be plenty of those available.

Yeah it’s very fascinating indeed. Vikings were some of the worst humans in history. Raped and pillaged all over the world. For generations they’d invade and terrorize other lands, take all the most attractive women, and continuously rape them until they bred as many children as they desired. But noooooo...they want to rant about Columbus every Thanksgiving and Columbus Day.
> ... take all the most attractive women ...

I recently came across a conjecture about the historical motivation for wars, which sounded kinda weird at first, but on further thought, I think there might be something to it - namely, that besides warring to grab resources and/or slaves, one of the primary motivations was a scarcity of women (i.e., historically, women die in childbirth, leaving a population imbalance, plus the princes get first choice, etc.). Thinking about the Vikings, perhaps that motivation does apply.

Math is now racist...

OK, maybe in one very esoteric sense, 2 + 2 = 4 might be racist.

There is the remote possibility that some unknown (to us) race of people in the jungles of the Amazon or Borneo uses binary to do their math. So for them, it would instead be ...

10 + 10 = 100

Or maybe some other tribe does their arithmetic base 3, in which case it would be ...

2 + 2= 11

But the problem is a pragmatic one. We could not possibly make math fully inclusionary - even for tribes and races yet to be discovered. Because any (as yet unknown) race or tribe might conceivably utilize any base whatsoever to do their arithmetic (not to mention any dyslexic tribes that might write their numbers backwards (with my apologies for using the racist term, "dyslexic")), in order to be fully inclusionary in some hypothetical non-racist mathematics, each mathematical statement would have to be replicated an infinite number of times in order not to offend any hypothetical race that might use any number whatsoever as the base for its arithmetic. But that level of redundancy would require an infinite number of bits to store any given finite mathematical statement.

Thus for pragmatic reasons, we are forced to compromise and pick one particular base for our arithmetic (and conversion to another base is algorithmically simple). For Western society we have chosen base 10 for written math and base 2 for computer math. So that's the agreed-upon solution. It's simply a convention, and we have no racist intentions when we use base 10 for written math and base 2 for computer math.

And anybody who thinks that's racist can just f-off.

Or better yet, they could first study Frege (

http://www.naturalthinker.net/trl/texts/Frege,Gottlob/Frege, Gottlob - The Foundations of Arithmetic (1953) 2Ed_ 7.0-2.5 LotB.pdf

https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/frege-theorem

) and other related sources on the logical foundations of mathematics (

) and then we could have a discussion on whether or not set theory and/or symbolic logic and/or category theory are racist. (Spoiler alert: The answer is no, these are not racist academic disciplines.)

Totally aside, saw this one the other day. "There are 10 types of people in the world: those that count using binary and those who don't".

Welcome to Floyd, D.C.
I think the Columbia part of District of Columbia has gotta go to, since that's obviously a tip of the hat to Columbus, that guy who didn't have slaves but who established the trade route that slaving ships later followed.

Perhaps we should vote on the replacement for D.C.

Maybe Floyd, District of Marx.

They may have to rethink that one. Without Columbus there are no Hispanics.

A glimmer of hope:
It’s good to see that some community members came to the cop’s aid to subdue the suspect. It appears that the suspect was doing something that they didn’t like b/c a couple of them wanted to get some shots in.

But WTH is with that cop? He’s softer than baby poop. Why is he a cop? And if he’s going to be a cop, physically prepare yourself for the job.

There are several folks in that video who deserve to be detained and a couple that should be charged with assault. Then at the very end a moronic cop appears to charge in without surveying the scene and starts beating up the (presumed) hero.

Who could’ve predicted this? Give people money for doing nothing and it becomes a right.

Glad people are challenging the choice to glorify and celebrate racist, bigoted history.

Hatred must never be glorified and celebrated.
Agreed. This is why I never glorify or celebrate progressive liberalism.
