Saw this article on the BBC news service on the great divide in our society and how both sides really do not know the other very well and how that divide is very dangerous. This quote I found very, very interesting:
"A recent study of Americans suggested Republicans vastly overestimate the proportion of Democrats who are atheist or agnostic at 36% - four times the reality. In turn, Democrats estimated 44% of Republicans made more than $250,000 (£192,000) a year. Only 2% do."
Though both parts are surprising, the later part just confirms and proves that many Democrats haven't got a clue about money, incomes or just plain reality. An income of anywhere near that amount would be a fortune in the making, as the 2% number shows. Reminded me of the welfare mother of two, age 16, who thought she and her children could live on $20 a month. Even when pushed on that non wisdom by the African American reporter. Yet, in another way, this is not surprising at all. Many Democrats are too often just dreamers divorced from knowledge or what is real or possible.
