He hasn't been on campus as long as Brian Cardinal was for Purdue. Cardinal was on campus for 7 seasons, at least it seemed like that back in the day. Probably wrong but that guy was such a pest for Purdue Basketball.
Still only had, what guessing less than 10 targets total in the last two games? The one catch he had against either Nebraska or Wisc (don't remember) was pretty damn circus. Think it popped out when the defender hit him and he still grabbed it. Great play.Cool. I was glad to see him getting playing time at receiver towards the end of the year. He was very reliable when the ball was thrown to him. An he got popped a couple times on slant routes and somehow held onto the ball.
His flexibility makes him a very valuable asset if the coaching staff can find creative ways to use him. Very much in the mold of a Taysom Hill.
He has seven passing attempts in his career. I don't think Hill is the right comparison.
Except during his days at BYU
Said it better than I could have. Spot on.He has been a fine representative for the team and the University. As a highly recruited QB he could have pouted and looked elsewhere when he didn't get a shot at the position. Instead he adapted to what the coaching staff wanted from him and became a valuable member of the team. He has also been a leader in the community and his making an impact beyond the field and locker room. His family and this state should be very proud of him.
I would argue Green's role in our offense has been far more limited than what Hill's regular role in the Saints offense was.
I would be fine if Green's role started evolving more into what Hill's regular role is like.
I am sure that all this would be information that someone should have told the Saints before they paid him like a QB.Despite playing QB at BYU....Hill was NEVER slotted to play QB in the NFL. He's carved out a niche due to his athleticism and his ability to line up under center and throw the ball in a pinch in order to throw a wrinkle at the defense.

His role with the Saints is basically the same as Green's is in our offense.

Your numbers are off by a bit on his salary. Taysom Hill signed a 1 year, $16,300,000 contract with the New Orleans Saints, including a $8,000,000 signing bonus, $16,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $16,300,000. Per Spotrac. What is being paid like a quarterback? He's making a little under $9 million per year. Not in the top-25 of quarterbacks. Not even in the top-30 of wide receivers. Or are all the top-30 wide receivers paid like quarterbacks too?
