I agree. This misses the point.I'd take conservative complaints a lot more seriously if they took 5 minutes to understand the law they're mad about

No one said that....Ah. So banning Parler means this could never happen again and there will be no other effects. Excellent. Glad this simple move can put this ugly chapter to bed.
Hate speech, which in my (lay) opinion should include speech that is untruthful and reasonably seems intended to incite hatred, should not be covered by 1A.Loading…

Speech that the left can’t control. No one said that....
I would say more but Amazons letter makes it pretty clear what Parlers problem is.
I'd say the problem is the speech the right can't control.Speech that the left can’t control.
We are living in a leftist cultural hegemony, so do elaborate.I'd say the problem is the speech the right can't control.
But, but, but, but, but, But, but, but, but, but, But, but, but, but, but, But, but, but, but, but, But, but, but,This is a very interesting podcast series that I listened to recently: https://blog.google/inside-google/infrastructure/where-the-internet-lives-new-podcast/
It is produced by Google and about their history of building their own data centers/warehouses that service and support their own online technologies that they provide to the public.
But the point I want to make is: Parler hasn't done anything of this sort. Rather, they paid Amazon to use their data centers and associated services. They have no right to them, they're private infrastructure.
If they want to build their own data centers to service their own platform, go for it.
Jesus, you are truly a lunatic.Deuce wants Amazon's private servers to be nationalized so that Parler can still post their hate speech and their insurrection plans without business decisions getting in the way. Thinks we should privatize roads to offset the difference.
We're finding out who the true pinko socialist/communists are on this board.Deuce wants Amazon's private servers to be nationalized so that Parler can still post their hate speech and their insurrection plans without business decisions getting in the way. Generally yes, agree.Parler's problem is that they don't own their own data centers.
If the right wants to allow the public to have a platform to say the kinds of things that were being said on Parler, assuming the law does and still will protect that type of speech, then they'll have to build their own data centers and make that infrastructure investment.
No way around that.
go stand on the street corner and scream it all you wantSpeech that the left can’t control.
Coming from the privatized roads anarchist with fake economics expertise!Jesus, you are truly a lunatic.
It is much, much, MUCH worse than that. All of Parler's data has been "hacked" and leaked since Twilio cut ties with them. Will be very interesting to see how much of the content was hate speech. I'm sure people are crunching the data.
Now I'm not saying Twitter and other social media platforms are filled with 100% stable citizens. But God damn. Why would you want to kill college professors? Or anyone really. But college professors specifically. Like why?It is much, much, MUCH worse than that.
Over 70 terabytes of info was downloaded and archived (about 99.9% of the data). It includes raw metadata. They had an easy backdoor to become a "moderator" to the site and download the entire history...which has been done. There is no erasing or scrubbing this.
Many Parler users submitted an image of the front and back of their drivers license to prove they were citizens. Also Social Security numbers. How do you think all those people got added to the "no-fly" list so quickly?
They also had all the geotagging enabled, do the FBI will know every Parler user that was at the capitol. As if the pics of Rep Laruen Boebert didn't do enough (she also tweeted out location info for Pelosi).
