Trump made it a point to flip the Iron Range to solid Red, and it's worked. Democratic mayors across the Iron Range have jumped on the Trump train. It's a growing trend, that of politicians aligning themselves with Trump and distancing themselves from Biden. That's a huge tell in the way elections are going. The Dems only hope to win MN is that that MPLS votes solid Blue. Torching the city seems like a strange strategy, but that is indeed the libs strategy -- burn it down and they'll vote for us.

The reshuffling of the political parties continues. The Democrats keep adding radicals and the Republicans keep adding people with traditional American values.

A big tell in how presidential elections are going is how other candidates (Senators, Representatives, down through mayors) view Biden and Trump. They're jumping in mass on the Trump train (e.g., the Democratic mayors in the Iron Range, Jason Lewis is all onboard), and you're not seeing that at all from the libs. Tina doesn't seem to be even mentioning Biden, AOL made it a point to distance herself from Joe. Candidates have a very good feel for the way elections are moving, they have to, or they wouldn't make it in politics.

I do think that this will eventually splinter into a third party. I know there are pretty strong divisions between Conservatives (especially in younger groups) that are essentially held together because of the lunacy of the left.

Paleo-conservatism/Groyper types will eventually splinter from NeoCons. I think the NeoCons and the former Democrats seem like a natural sort of marriage (less taxes, pro-legal immigration, fairly mainstream ideas).

I guess my point is that the NeoCons/moderate Dems have more in common that the NeoCons and the Groypers.

Is it really political correct to call Biden supporters "Gropers", even if he is a groper? That sounds a little harsh

Minnesota has been moving very slowly toward the red column for 30 or 40 years.

The current political alignment will prevent it from becoming anything more than purple. The GOP is getting more and more of the white working class vote and rural vote. However, Minnesota is a highly educated state, and white voters with a college degree are voting more and more democratic.

Minnesota has a little more room to move right, but not much.

Regardless, Jason Lewis and Trump will both lose Minnesota in November.

No its not. He couldn't even take Minnesota in 2016.....when Clinton lost the MN caucus 38% to 62% to Bernie. Four years of the worst presidency in the history of the U.S. didn't help.

LOL! Fail.

I think #2Gopher misunderstood understood the thread title - Minnesota is Turning Red!
He thought he could now bravly hang his red flag with a a golden hammer and sickle in the left hand corner.

In preperattion for this momentus day he put up a red flag pole in his front yard 11 years ago. Although he hasn't started flying the Hammer & sickel yet he has made good use of red flag pole. You can catch him in his front yard every Friday & Saturday night pole dancing as his nabbors throw nicholes at him..

He has to quit before sun down to pick up his nichols before the naborhod ANTEFA members come around and try to collect their dues for the cause!

Much anger all over the place. Emotions running high, we have a president who doesn't bring people together, instead calls people names, creates fights, lies, declared bankruptcy numerous times and no bank in the US will give him a loan, chickened out on serving our country as to the military and you can go on. Much crap has happened during the past 3 1/2 years to tear our country apart. Our country will be destroyed if Trump gets reelected.

Look at what Biden can do, don't look at what has happened completely in our cities. Biden didn't have anything to do with that.

Not sure where communism is coming in. Allowing everyone to vote communism? Allowing everyone to have affordable health coverage the rest of the world communism? Getting rid of private prisons where there motive is to keep people in prisons longer communism? I could go on. Doesn't make sense folks. All I know is that I have extremely racist neighbors and one Minneapolis Cop in my neighborhood as well who is also racist and has a horrible attitude in general. Bringing people together? No. Creating more problems? Yes.

Despite all this, Trumpers still tout the Pledge to the Allegiance...."liberty and justice for all?" I don't think so.

Bottom line is that is this what "God would want as a leader?" If you think so, then think twice about where you're going after you pass as this isn't a good message to present to God. Either you're with him or you're not.

So, some of our left friends got excited upon first reading this thread title? Obviously hyperbolic but have to admit I laughed out loud. I am sure our friends can come up with a similar zinger to us righties, but this was very funny.

Biden's had over 40 years to show us what he's capable of. Sorry. Not interested. His last boss had 8 years in office to improve race relations in this country and all he did was pour gas on the fire

Are we really stupid enough to give Joe another shot? A body of work that spans decades, nothing to show for it but groping and racist, segregationist comments and actions

What would God want as a leader? Jesus Christ. He isn't on the ballot. Nor is any perfect leader. Look at what leaders DO. Trump has had an amazing 4 years of productivity. All of the anger and #resistance is coming from the left to create disunity. Fake Russian Collusion narrative; Obama spied on Trump (this is a fact). Then the continuation of the Mueller probe for two years when we now know that they knew that the dossier was a faked up Clinton product on day one. There never was a predicate for the spying or the Mueller probe. Act three of the resistance was the Ukraine phone call when the Dems panicked that Biden's corruption would be uncovered. Act 4 - covid and rioting in our cities. They have politicized covid and ginned up a race war on false information from the media. ALL of the disunity is from the Dems and their hatred and the willingness of media allies to spread it.

Pretty soon, the names of the major parties in Minnesota will be:

Republican Farmer Labor

and

Democratic Socialist Communist

Trump is exactly what this country needed/needs. You can tell by the people that oppose him. The commies on the left area goven (that is what is left) but, especially by the Rs that oppose him. They are the most telling. Opposing Marxisn is the given. Opposing global crony corporitism was the difficult one.

I think #2 is accurate in stating he doesn't realize he is supporting Communism, but he is.

LOL! You folks don't know history very well at all. Much like Trump he doesn't believe in reading. Look at today's Minneapolis Paper. Section on fact checks where pretty much everything Trump said about Biden is false.

Many, many, many, many racist people and non God believing people on this thread. Would God approve this thread? Warning you, be-careful how you respond. May haunt you down the road when you pass.

Speaking of reading, give 1984 a shot. One of the best non-fiction books I have read.

It's not an accident that the BLM clenched fist is identical to the Communist Party clenched fist.
You'll find other inadvertent situations like this. How do you interpret kneeling? Prayer, respect, loving and so on. The right wouldn't know about prayer as to what God would want, respect to all as well as loving to all.

The right is always famous for turning and twisting things around to accommodate their evil ways. By the way Trump has made over 20,000 lies in his 3 1/2 years as so called president and he calls himself a Christian. I doubt if he knows what the word Christian really means as well as many on this thread.

I read it college and I thought it was pretty overrated at the time. It was written as an attack on authoritarian governments fueled by mass media but almost at a comic book level. I will say that its theme of shifting beliefs, values, and propaganda according to the leaders' current goals is reflective of current right wing media and the Trump party. Orwell seemed never to have contemplated the idea that mass media propaganda didn't have to be owned and controlled by the state.

I read two other novels at around the same time dealing with the subjects of authoritarian governments and how they could take root: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler. I thought both were better than 1984, especially Darkness at Noon.

I haven't seen you post much on the OTB board. You should know that you shouldn't waste too much effort on the majority of right wingers who post here. That goes double for the one who was the target of your response above; he's a cackling hyena who deserves nothing but scorn. At least half of them are the personification of Clinton's "deplorable" label. Some of them are all right or even decent, intelligent people but feel them out before you invest much time.
