The solution is to get more guns and better training for the people who legitimately can own guns. The felons and truly mentally ill should not. Every county should develop a large posse from as many combat arms military veterans as are willing. That would be huge numbers.

This kind of thinking betrays the reason for a Constitutional form of government. Posse groups have no business in issues of state interests. They are privateers with private interests. When disputes between people arise in a Constitutional democracy, we tacitly agree to allow the state to conduct investigations where citizens cooperate with the state to establish the facts and evidence. Then private parties are allowed to argue those facts in a court of law to resolve disputes. The law is upheld by the court as the sole interest of the judiciary, which allows for state interests of impartiality to the parties to exist. The state is only interested in the law being applied to all parties. Posse action, being private interested only, naturally is biased as there is no governance to their actions. Therefore, putting posses together with armed citizens is nothing more than jungle law, where justice is based on the interests of the most well armed. Armed citizens are the worst form of justice as investigation and evidence establishment are denied, meaning no justice results from any action of the posse. Posses don't gather evidence with respect to the law. The squeeze triggers and kill in the name of justice. There is simply no due process actions by vigilantism. None.

Combat veterans make lousy investigators. They know how to control space, but they are not trained in forensics or investigation. Bad, idea. Really bad idea.

Guess you don't know what a posse is. You equate to a private militia. Militias can serve a purpose too. Perhaps your weakest satire in a while.

I never said we should let them in. I'm guessing most of them don't qualify for refugee status and will be sent home. That's what should happen. I just find the hysteria about it so predictable. OMG this proves we need a wall! We need to send massive military forces to the border! etc. etc.

LOL

This is so pathetic. Fox News: "Boy this Lev Parnas stuff and the impeachment stuff looks really bad for Don. Time for wall-to-wall Caravan time!" And his cult drinks the Kool-Aid.

It's like when the Delta house knew it was time for a toga party.

2020 Democrat imports.

Don't worry, Dear Leader declared a national emergency 335 days ago, so there's no possible way there could still be a problem with illegal immigration.

The October surprise that won't be a surprise. Expect Trump & Co. to start ramping up rhetoric about Caravan 4.2 any time in the next weeks or months. Maybe it'll be a talking point at the convention.

With support from 20,000 Mexican soldiers and 200 plus miles of wall built, illegal immigration is down 84% from last year at this same time. Mexico. Helping. Hmmm. Wall. Working. Hmmm

So then why do we need National Guard troops on the border? In October. And why are the 20,000 Mexican troops required?

Also, it's not 200 new miles of wall. It's 3.

The border is 2000 miles long.

Lastly, May 2019 was the absolute zenith of immigration. Picking that as your baseline is convenient. Illegal immigration is up 16% since this time in 2017.

I'd stay out of Arizona and Texas too. Too much Covid.

Has Mexico paid that invoice yet?

If we would just stop testing (checking people's immigration status), there'd be no cases (undocumented immigrants). That's how it works, right?

Actually, I think they have. 20,000 soldiers helping patrol the border and stop migrants is something they were not doing before. Obviously it is helping and it obviously costs Mexico a lot of money. It cannot be a bad thing if a lot of drug traffic is being stopped.

The truth is, Trump would love to help Mexico become a major economic power that replaces some of the work China does. Mexico gets that. If Mexico were to become a better place to live, it would solve a lot of problems here. They have to clean house on the cartels to get that done.

Replacing fences that didn't work at all is building new wall. Why do you have to be so dishonest?
If you blow off a quanset house and build a new house - have you built a new house? Of course you have. You can't admit that this is new wall because it is NOT ALLOWED for a leftist like you to give credit to Trump for ANYTHING. You have TDS.

The border is 2000 miles long. Perhaps as much as 1000 miles of it will never need a wall because it is so impassable. Trump is on his way to 400 miles by the end of the year with zero help from the Dems who have fought it every step of the way. That will put us 600 miles of wall away from a pretty secure border which is going to be much easier to patrol.

Will it be perfect? No. Will it stop 80-90% of the illegals from going over? Yes. So what? This is a big deal because once the wall is done, then Trump will be more than willing to make a deal to identify and make welcome all illegals who have not committed other crimes while in the US and who are working. They will become identified working taxpayers. Not citizens- although a long term path might be offered too. You can never offer amnesty without a solution to the border. Never. It was proven during the Reagan era. Amnesty without a wall is an invitation for more illegals.

The Democrats? They do NOT want to solve this problem. For them it is much better to have an intractable problem always on the table. That way they have something they can sell. "We are the ones who love you and want to protect you." All the while they are just playing to a voting base, legal and illegal to bolster their own power. They would rather enslave the illegals and keep them in the dark than solve the problem.

Big win for Trump and America yesterday in the SCOTUS on removing illegals!

I approve of this, but I am very skeptical. If you have ever been in the cartel controlled areas of Mexico, it is hard to believe anything short of a full invasion is going to change things.

But beeg, I'm with ya. These "homeless camps" in the parks in Minneapolis have nothing to do with homelessness. They are drug camps. People who prefer to sleep rough, because shelters won't let you use. The influx of cheap heroin is ruining lives. If we could convert that traffic to computers and widgets, we'd have a happier healthier society.

The migrant mob from Guatemala has torn down the gates at the Mexico/Guatemala border. The group ranging between 3000 and 8000 people may be heading for the US border. Who here wants to let them into the US? Any of you budget cutters want to let them in? :)

I vote no- don't let them in.

Biden, amirite?
