Most of the discussion centers around the Burisma investigation. But when Republicans defend the July 25 call, they point out that the first thing Trump asks for after the reference by Zelensky to the Javelins is Crowdstrike. The idea, I guess, is that Trump really just wants to investigate meddling in the 2016 election. The problem is that nothing he said makes sense.

Can someone explain with any sort of evidence at all what the theory is here:

Who is the wealthy person? What reason is there to believe that Ukraine has a DNC server? How does Crowdstrike fit in?

It’s the equivalent of saying “WTF is going on over there. Get your sh!t together. Control your oligarchs. Figure out what interference your country played in our 2016 elections and don’t let it happen again.”

I speak Trump code better than Adam Schiffshow and howie.

Lol. You don't really believe these things you say. Trump was fed RW/Qanon conspiracy theories about Ukrain being the REAL culprit in the 2016 elections and he believed them and demanded Ukraine get him proof of them. And you're totally fine with it. Anything is OK if done while Republican.

Alperovitch of Ukraine is the CEO of Crowdstrike. Crowdstrike is the outfit that was the contractor to the DNC who declared that the Russians hacked the DNC. Then the FBI took their word for it- inexplicably, without doing an ounce of investigation themselves. The DNC did not want the FBI to help and the FBI stood by and obeyed. Does Trump think evidence of what was on the DNC servers has been transferred to a Ukrainian server- perhaps to blackmail the DNC? Not sure. Trump knows something we don't.

You left off the best part:

“Also, dig up dirt on Joe Biden, so I can use it in the election for my own personal benefit. And if you refuse to do that bit of it, I’ll withhold aid money from your country.”

Alperovitch is Russian. Not that it actually matters, but your credibility is further reduced by the fact that he's the CTO.

Beyond that, is there the slightest actual evidence Ukraine was involved?

Don't forget two of Mueller & Comey's top FBI execs left the FBI to run Crowdstrike. Small world, huh?

- FBI cyber expert (Shawn Henry) joins private firm CrowdStrike:

"Henry, who spent 24 years at the FBI, served as executive assistant director of the FBI’s Criminal, Cyber, Response, and Services Branch since September 2010. Before that, he was the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office."

- Security startup CrowdStrike hires one of FBI's top lawyers (Steven Chabinsky):

"The firm said on Thursday that FBI Deputy Assistant Director Steven Chabinsky will join the company next week as senior vice president for legal affairs and chief risk officer."

He probably left that out since none of it is true.

More from the small world dept:

- CrowdStrike General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer Appointed to the White House Commission:

Irvine, CA – April 18, 2016 – "CrowdStrike Inc. today announced that Steven Chabinsky, CrowdStrike’s general counsel and chief risk officer, has been appointed by the President to the Commission on Enhancing National Cybersecurity. Under the Commission, Chabinsky and 11 other industry leaders have been directed by the White House to recommend “bold, actionable steps that the government, private sector, and the nation as a whole can take to bolster cybersecurity in today’s digital world.”

That's actually a good correction you make - Alperovitch is a Russian expat but was BORN in Russia. This is true. Thanks. Notice I can admit errors. Too bad that you don't have the integrity to admit that you lied and passed fake news about Trump golfing during the raid.

The Ukraine situation is complicated and thus beyond you. I am pretty sure it will become clear in coming months. Notice that Zelensky did not say on the phone call- hey what are you talking about?..nobody from Ukraine was involved in the hacking issue.... Why didn't he say that?

So basically there's no reason whatsoever to think that Ukraine had anything to do with Crowdstrike or the DNC server and Trump was just making stuff up.

As for Zelensky's response, here it is. This is basically what you say to someone when he's talking nonsense, but you're trying to get military assistance from him.

No. I think there is reason to believe that Ukrainians, and Crowdstrike, not the Ukrainian government, had plenty to do with the DNC "hack". I believe that Trump thinks that and I suspect he has information that is pretty strong to that effect. We also KNOW that the DNC did collude with the government of Ukraine to dig dirt on Manafort in order to dirty up the Trump campaign. So yeah, there was a lot of 2016 election interference going on in Ukraine on behalf of Clinton. When you thought (wrongly) that it was Russia on behalf of Trump, well then it was a holy search for the truth led by the white knight Bob Mueller and prior to that the champion Barack Obama who was so convinced of it that he had Trump spied on. You were all in on that.

Now? What a shame that a President would seek cooperation on getting at the roots of 2016 election interference!! Impeach!!

Can you list these reasons, or, heaven forbid, provide evidence of their veracity?

Is it safe to assume that the NRCC was also involved in the DNC hack since they are clients of Crowdstrike?

No. It appears safe to say though that Crowdstrike is for hire to do what you want done.

Manafort thought it was Ukrainians not Russians that were involved in hacking the DNC. There is a fair amount out there showing that Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear hackers actually originate from the Ukraine. Let's face it, Trump has access to a lot of information that we don't. If he is putting it out there that Ukraine was involved in the DNC hacking or the evidence is there- bet on it.

Remember, Trump said early and often that he was spied on - and it turned out he was right.
He said there was no collusion with Russia- and he was right.
He said that the dossier was fake- and he was right.
He said that the Mueller investigation was a witch hunt and he was right.

You on the other hand have been wrong for three straight years. So I am going with Trump, plus I know a LOT more than you do about this, since I don't live in a leftist bubble. Why do you have to ask me? Why don't you go out and do some research instead of tweeting (parroting) the opinions of others as a proxy for yours?

Hahaha, Manafort? You can't possibly be serious. Manafort is literally in prison for crimes related to the work he did for the corrupt, deposed, Russian-backed former leader of Ukraine.

Glad to know you know a lot more about this than me, but not enough to provide a single link with evidence that Ukraine hacked the DNC

You're right, if Don said it, it must be true. When has he ever lied to us?

Literally? Is he literally in prison? I knew he was there....

Manafort was a crook (as Trump declared before firing him). That doesn't mean he didn't know what was going on in the Ukraine. Obviously he did. Manafort was working for Deripaska - who was backing Clinton. Let's see if you can figure out what was happening...

I have gone through the Ukraine thing time and again as have others here and it just does not register in your brain. You will see, that hard way. Just like you did with Russian Collusion- although it appears that you are too daft to pick up on that as of yet.
