"Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a President from office."

Spineless Marco Rubio trying to avoid angering Dear Leader while remaining viable once the Trumpster party implodes. No one will fall for it. Coward.
Did you really expect Republicans to vote to remove Trump from office less than a year before an election? Are you really this dumb? We know you're a hack, but it's shocking how idiotic you've become.

Next week is probably put up or shut up time for Rudy. He said he is revealing tapes and evidence to prove the corruption there. I'd guess he delivers tapes that are quite a bit better than the silly tape you are setting your hopes on tonight.
I guess it's shut up time for Rudy.

hey, crying babies. There's an election in 10 months. Just vote him out of office. If not, whine about how Democracy is not fair.
This seems like such an easy solution, no? This kind of thing actually happens every 4 years. Crazy, I know

It will be tough to vote him out of office. We live in a new society where it is ok to call people names, lie over 15,000 times while in office, file for bankruptcy freely, have affairs, not know anything about foreign affairs, think he is smarter than all the generals and calls them names in front of them, think he knows the Bible better than anyone and the only one he remembers is the eye for eye verse in the Old Testament.

Its not about securing the most votes as he clearly didn't in the last election, but rather about paying money for fake news to mislead the public particularly on facebook and get the electoral vote in a few key states.

Absolutely right. We are a representative constitutional Republic, not a democracy.

If you want a pure democracy, move somewhere else. We’re not going to change the Constitution to suit you.

Of course not. We'll just ignore it and grant the President absolute power.

The Republic is over. The Trumpers officially endorse ending our democratic system for an authoritarian one.

So what happened to “impeachment is a political process”? I thought all you leftists said that impeachment is what Congress says it is.

Now, all of a sudden, it’s a law and justice process.

BTW, fairness of justice, due process, is an individual right guaranteed by the Constitution. Not a right of the government. Enough with this “it wasn’t a fair trial”.

It wasn't a fair trial. It was an absolute joke and Trump is making our democracy process a joke. 75% of the people in the United States wanted witnesses. However once again the GOP elected officials chose to do what they wanted to do instead of listening to the people. Putin, Kim, and Trump all have the same values.

It was a overly simplistic poll question that in no way explained the process or complexities or length that having witnesses would require. And not just the witnesses that Dems want, but Trump/Republican picked witnesses.

If you asked the question “do you want impeachment to drag on?”, I believe a significant majority would answer no. Many from each side. It’s a misleading question, just like wanting witnesses.

The rules have been the same for hundreds of years. But Hillary loses once and the world fell apart.

Yes!! That’s what we’ve granted Trump! With the constant investigations and spying. He’s a dictator. He was impeached for delaying aid to a small country. Just like dictators. Good call!

Not fair! The Dems completely controlled the process right up until the Senate process. But it was unfair. The Senate didn’t vote to convict so it was unfair.
you should be mad at Dem leaders for making you believe this had a chance. They knew it didn’t. They just want you angry so you’ll vote in November. Well find out what the people think. Feel the Bern!!!!

The idea of a "fair trial" is to ensure the accused receives a fair trial.

This isn't brain surgery. The Democrats had to name all the witnesses they planned to call in the Senate trial, ahead of time. They didn't do their job. They rushed to pass the articles of impeachment to score theatrical points at Christmas. Then they sat on them for a month after claiming it was urgent. Then they showed up to the Senate unprepared and wanted the Senate to do their job for them. You suck at impeachment. Don't be mad at Trump, be mad at Nancy Pelosi & Adam Schiff.

A) There's no law that says this
B) The Senate didn't call any of the witnesses they actually listed
C) They asked Bolton to appear before the House

When the Senate Republicans eventually vote all of this down, they will have set a dangerous precedent and now have to be okay with all future presidents doing this crap too, including those from the Democratic party.

Game on, I guess?

How dumb. It's been the Loony Lefty Dems that have set a "dangerous precedent" for attempting to remove a president just because they don't like him. Enjoy 5 more years, Loony!

If it was a Democratic president who was telling other countries to investigate a political rival and stonewalling Congress when they tried to look into it, you'd be having an aneurysm right now and you know it.

In the end, November matters more than the impeachment process, which is broken by every measure by each party viewpoint. The Constitution got the method wrong. The courts should have had control of the trial under real laws and not made up crap on in the House and Senate. If it applies to the people, it should apply to the President. End of story.

What really has struck me during the Trump Presidency is this: any idiot can become President. Therefore, the argument that having a President thrown into the Courts has become more appealing. Treat the President as an ordinary citizen, under ordinary law, and the problem is solved. No more politics. No more face trials. Same old independent judiciary.

The Obama administration and its deep state did investigate Trump and the Trump administration for a phony foreign collusion and potential blackmail story paid for by Hillary, the DNC, and made up by FusionGPS and foreign actors.

It’s amazing how lefties ignore that.

I wanted the President impeached. But, I am not losing any sleep over this as I get a say in just a few months. If I lose again, I am not going to cry in my milk. I am going to get up and go about my day just like I did 4 years ago and 8 years ago.

Yeah and there is also no law that says that the Senate can't just take what the House did and say- "this is a garbage sham case- we are not calling any witnesses."

Let's make a point that the Steele "Dossier" was foreign interference. That would then make Trump's play in Ukraine another form of interference. Why isn't there a call by both parties to clarify in the law that these types of actions are illegal in campaigns? Why do we have a Congress that fails to think beyond their collective noses? The last 4 years have been a political disaster all around for everyone involved. I say we clean house and sweep them all out of office for being a collection of misfits and do nothings. Pelosi. Gone. Trump. Gone. Jim Jeffords. Gone.
