Not sure what position he's being recruited to play, but he's been a pretty good pitcher for the Tigers. As a sophomore, he threw a perfect game and finished the season with a 1.71 ERA and 43 strikeouts. Also had a .465 average. This spring, he batted .467, and finished on the mound with a 2.02 ERA and 59 strikeouts. Marshall finished 3rd in Class AA, but will be in Class AAA in 2016.Drew Hmielewski of Marshall, MN committed to play WR for the Gophers and it looks like he will play baseball as well.
If that was the situation there would maybe be some transfers but if Coach Anderson plans to be done after this season I would guess that he is letting the guys he is recruiting now know that and they are aware of the situation they are getting into. He did mention in an article this spring he plans on coaching 4-5 more years if the university will have him and it is hard for me to see him being pushed out even with the struggles of the past few years. http://http://www.twincities.com/sports/ci_28148309/big-ten-baseball-tournament-hits-target-field-sansSo what happens with recruits once the contracts of the coaches are up after this summer? When we hire a new coaching staff will their be an influx of new recruits that they want to bring in? Or will these recruits that we have now still be bonded through the ncaa contract? Still not impressed with the recruits they are bringing in and think they should get some junior college kids in late.
