Libs love the remodeling job she, Frey and Walz did in downtown MPLS. Home sweet home. Coming soon to neighborhoods throughout the country. Can't wait until we can bring Lib values to homes everywhere.

We've Just Begun Destroying America, Together We Can Finish the Job. Vote Joe !!!

Why does this crazy lady have her own thread?
She's the leader of the squad that many want to be the leader of the libs, and some would claim they already are. Who has more power in the libs than the squad? Not Pelosi/Schumer. The squad forced them to do the impeachment process. Hillary is a has been, Biden is an empty bucket hiding in a basement. Obama is certainly pulling strings in the background, but the squad is very visible in what they're doing. Want to know where the libs stand and what they'll do if BIden wins? Then follow the squad.

Why does this crazy lady have her own thread?
Because AOC, her 12 million Twitter and Instagram followers, her ever growing coalition of progressives in Congress and state legislatures, and her demonstrated ability to raise money to fund the political campaigns of young like-minded politicians are the future.

Trump and his followers are part of the past even if he manages to win in November. The world is changing and right wingers are not going to be happy with what's coming. In other words, their old road is rapidly aging, so they better get out of the new one if they can't lend a hand.

Commies like you are the folks who aren't going to be happy. Even if you get your wish, you're as likely to die in a gulag as any of us. And if not, you'll suffer just as much as the rest of us. The alternative is that you are defeated and humiliated. Lose lose. Which suits you and probably encapsulates your entire sorry life.

Violent crime skyrocketing in NYC and AOC blames it on people trying to feed their kids??? It's most defiantly not that! The NYPD is being defunded and attacked! Doing their already difficult job is becoming impossible. AOC (a potential Biden advisor) is another reason to vote for Trump.

Howie knows. Sure, he claims to be a Ron Paul voter who hated Romney and McCain but loved Huntsman but then LOVED Hillary and then now is probably the biggest Biden fan ever and SOOO wanted Stacey Abrams but loved Kamala. He knows a phony when he sees one.

Billionaire Palihapitiya on phenomenon of 'spectacular' AOC

Billionaire investor Chamath Palihapitiya recently explained why the thinks New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is both interesting and spectacular. In a series of Twitter posts last month, the CEO and founder of tech holding company Social Capital lashed out at President Donald Trump while vowing to send money to Democrats — an amount he pegged at over $750,000.

At that time, he also endorsed the polarizing freshman Congresswoman from Queens, also known as AOC.

I love @AOC - she will be President one day. I’ll be there for her when she’s ready.
— Chamath Palihapitiya (@chamath) June 24, 2020

In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Palihapitiya explained his thinking on the evolution of the major parties, and why he considers AOC a “wonderful” politician. "I spend a lot of time trying to understand where the parties are going. And I think what's happening is that the Republican Party is going to get torn apart because of people's affiliation or lack of affiliation with Donald Trump,” said the 43-year-old investor, who grew up in Canada in an immigrant family on welfare.

The reason AOC is interesting is that "she represents a standard-bearer of the movement in the left." He also thinks there will be "standard-bearers, young, dynamic leaders, in the right that do the same thing." Palihapitiya, who has no party affiliation and prides himself on independence, believes what's happening currently is a disintegration of both the Democratic and Republican parties, and "broadly speaking, that disintegration is a really good thing."

Meanwhile, what AOC represents is something “really unique and special. I also think I would say the same thing about a Republican, a young, dynamic personality who has a modern view of economic theory and social programs, which is sorely needed," Palihapitiya added.

At the moment, he explained, the pendulum is "swinging toward progressives, and then it'll swing back to centrism." The latter “is where most of the good will be done. But I think AOC is spectacular," he added. According to Palihapitiya, "politicians at their best are 'do no harm' because the real things that move society forward are incentives. And incentives are best designed by people who are experts of policy, not experts of politics."

In the midst of a heated debate over what capitalism needs to do to better society, Palihapitiya made a case for the need to create incentives for a “more accountable form of capitalism, more progressive form of capitalism can actually make money for shareholders but return more value to people.”

AOC Is Bringing In New Recruits to the ‘Squad’

After a bitter internal fight over an immigration bill last June, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi famously dismissed the power, or lack thereof, of the Squad—the semi-official name for the four new left-wing lawmakers shaking up Capitol Hill. “They’re four people,” Pelosi told the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd, “and that’s how many votes they got.”

“People said, you know, Squad’s just a couple votes,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told The Daily Beast last week. “And I said, all right, let's go get more. And so, we're getting more votes, we're getting more people.”

Indeed, come January 2021, new lawmakers are set to arrive in Congress with very similar values and politics to the Squad members—Ocasio-Cortez and Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)—having won their own tough races after securing endorsements from those very members.

For one, Jamaal Bowman, a former public school teacher who challenged longtime Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY), has a near-insurmountable lead in that primary race’s vote tally; and one district to the north, attorney Mondaire Jones has jumped out to a similarly commanding lead in the crowded race to succeed Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY). Both of their New York City-area districts are so overwhelmingly Democratic that if, as expected, they prevail in their primaries, GOP opposition in November will be nominal.

Elsewhere, a candidate backed by the left-wing group Justice Democrats, Marie Newman, successfully unseated centrist Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) in a primary and is a near-lock to head to Congress next year. In Massachusetts, which holds its primary in September, Holyoke mayor Alex Morse is hoping to defeat the powerful Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA) in a highly-watched race, and progressive candidates are vying to take the seat being vacated by Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-MA).

While the original four might have a unique status, on a core commonality of the squad—a willingness to buck party leadership—Jones and Bowman are very much simpatico. Both told The Daily Beast that progressives should be far more willing to use their votes to make or break legislation than they already are, a tactical question that left-leaning lawmakers have struggled with since Democrats took the majority last year.

Squad members, like Ocasio-Cortez, say they’ve been preparing for that very moment, setting small benchmarks in bills over the last year that would set a higher floor for 2021, if and when reinforcements arrive. “I have been very quietly breaking up parts of the Green New Deal and putting them in legislation,” Ocasio-Cortez said, adding that she fought, successfully, to include in the last COVID relief package expanded benefits for undocumented immigrants working essential jobs, in order to establish a policy high-watermark for the future.

“We have been very quietly but very steadily pushing precedent into these packages that are perhaps a little bit more than some of the caucus wants, but we've been getting wins in these packages that I think are very easily overlooked in the day to day news cycle,” she said. “That will make it very difficult, should we—knock on wood—take the Senate and take the White House, that they will not necessarily be able to move back.”

AOC’s congressional campaign staff reaches deal to unionize

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign staff has reached a deal to unionize with the Campaign Workers Guild (CWG), finalizing a two-year contract that includes overtime pay above 40 hours per week, a salary floor of at least $4,000 per month for full-time workers and unlimited sick leave, the staffers announced Monday.

Hourly workers for Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign will be paid no less than $18 per hour, a press release said. The agreement includes 12 weeks of paid parental leave, bonuses and stipends for remote-work expenses and even child care. It includes severance pay and health, life, dental and vision insurance.

The contract also includes language protecting immigrant workers and standardizing gender neutrality. “We're putting into practice so many of the policies this campaign organizes for every day,” said Ariella Schwartz, events manager for AOC’s campaign and bargaining team member.

The lawmaker praised the move. “Workers’ rights are the cornerstone of an economy that puts humanity first. I’ve lived without health insurance or dignity in the workplace, and I applaud the work our team has done to raise the bar for all workers,” said Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in a statement.

Is it possible for someone to really be this detached from the real world? Only libs can be this delusional. This is her own advertisement to get people to vote for her. Just one example, she's saying getting rid of prisons is going to help get rid of crime in NY. Right, the whole "bail is to hard on criminals so we'll set 'em all free" deal is really working well in NY. "Only" 17 people were shot in NY yesterday.

The Trump campaign is allocating more funding to NY. It's a really long stretch to think NY could be in play, but I suppose everything is possible. The Jewish vote is a big block in NY, and what the libs have done and continue to do in their racism against the Jews is coming into play in the voting. That and of course all the lib policies to increase NY crime and their deadly (literally) response to COVID. It just may be that the Mayor and Gov have turned the tide making it Red. That'd really be a huge shift, hard to believe it'll happen, but we'll see.

Voted for Obama in 2012, but keep doing your thing buddy! In March I was 50/50 on voting for Trump again. The tides have turned and you can thank the MSM for that!

Anyone who said AOC and Ilhan don't follow Pelosi's lead was wrong. AOC has now given a million dollars of donations for her campaign to herself, and not to be out done Ilhan has done the same. Just $100 million more to go and they'll catch up with Nancy. At this rate of corruption they'll be moving up the leadership ranks of the Democratic Party in no time. They have a lot of catching up to do to make to Hillary's Hall of Shame level of corruption, but they're off to a good start. Now if they can just get say Ukraine to give $80K/month "consulting contracts" to their family members, or stashes of untraceable diamonds, or a few billion in cash from China, then they can catch up to Joe. Come on, shoot for the stars. If you're going to be corrupt, be elite in your corruption.

Republican Rep. Ted Yoho resigns from a Christian non-profit's board after verbally attacking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
  • Republican Rep. Ted Yoho on Saturday resigned from the board of the Christian anti-poverty organization Bread for the World days after he verbally attacked Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
  • The non-profit announced that it "sought [Yoho's] resignation" after determining that his attack on Ocasio-Cortez didn't reflect "the values of respect and compassion that Jesus calls on us to exhibit every day."

AOC represents the future of America: women who refuse to be silenced

Hello? Police? I’d like to report a murder. On Thursday Republican congressman Ted Yoho was elegantly eviscerated by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the House floor. In just under 10 minutes, the New York congresswoman made Yoho look like the yahoo he is, and delivered a searing indictment of structural sexism. Do watch the full speech if you haven’t already – it’s a masterclass in responding to misogyny.

It wasn’t just the content of Ocasio-Cortez’s speech that was powerful, it was the way she delivered it. There was a carefully controlled fury in her voice that every woman will be familiar with. “I cannot apologize for my passion,” Yoho declared; as a man he doesn’t have to. When Brett Kavanaugh threw a temper tantrum in front of the Senate judiciary committee, Donald Trump Jr praised his “tone.”

Men like Kavanaugh and Yoho are not penalized for their “passion”; they’re not penalized for showing their emotion. Women are. Show too much emotion and you’re “hysterical”, you’re “crazy”, you’re a “nasty woman”. And so you learn to control your fury, to modulate your emotion. You learn to apologize for your passion.

The only thing that irritates men like Yoho more than an outspoken woman is an outspoken woman who also has the temerity not to be white. “I cannot apologize for my passion or for loving my God, my family and my country,” Yoho told the House. The subtext of that, of course, is that women like Ocasio-Cortez do not belong in “his” country. As Ocasio-Cortez pointed out in her speech, it’s a sentiment she hears a lot: “The president of the United States last year told me to go home to another country, with the implication that I don’t even belong in America.”

Guess what? Ocasio-Cortez isn’t going anywhere. She represents the future of America: women who refuse to be silenced, refuse to “know their place”, and refuse to apologize for their passion.

Same thing Ilhan Omar is doing with her new husband / campaign manager. Same thing Bernie sanders did when his wife was put in charge of media buys. Every politician does this how do you think they accumulate so much wealth.

National Catholic Reporter: AOC is the future of the Catholic Church

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's stunning speech on the House floor last week has been called "a comeback for the ages," "the most important feminist speech in a generation" and "a lesson in sexism and decency." I just call it "truth." As I listened to her 10-minute address on the House floor, I was struck by how often it referenced Catholic values.

Ocasio-Cortez repeatedly railed against the "dehumanizing" of others and instead called for treating people with dignity and respect. These are themes often repeated by Pope Francis, who has specifically cautioned about gossip and urged the use of respectful language, saying "it is possible to kill someone with the tongue."

Instead, the congresswoman gave what sounded like a pretty good description of what goes on in the Sacrament of Reconciliation: "When a decent man messes up, as we all are bound to do, he tries his best and does apologize. Not to save face, not to win a vote, he apologizes genuinely to repair and acknowledge the harm done so that we can all move on."

Perhaps such Catholic references are not surprising, since the rock-star millennial leader of the left grew up Catholic and even wrote about how her faith influences her views on public policies such as mass incarceration, for a Catholic magazine.

As a young Latina, Ocasio-Cortez represents the demographic future of the Catholic Church. But — if there is to be a future for the Catholic Church in the United States — it must also resemble Ocasio-Cortez in her passion for justice and human dignity, and in her courage and integrity, even in the face of vulgar attacks.
