    2022 Recruiting

Looks like here: https://www.prepgirlshoops.com/2022-rankings Heyer and Holloway are ranked 36 and 45 respectively. Only Minnesotans ranked higher are Nnaji, Braun & Battle at 7, 21 & 29 respectively. Holloway looked impressive on the video. Very active, agile and lots of energy. Don't...

All Things Paige Bueckers Recruitment Thread - Videos, Analysis, Tid-Bits, Articles

I should point out the gatorade award only pretends to evaluate 6 sports for both boys and girls which is dumb to me but they are just marketing so they are probably just picking the sports with the most participants in each sex. #1 rated in class? certainly top few but one of the top of all...

All Things Paige Bueckers Recruitment Thread - Videos, Analysis, Tid-Bits, Articles

Maybe, but Marketing interest means that Gatorade would never consider athletes from the majority of the sports out there. In the 17 years of the award only 5 different sports were involved on the girls side of things (BB, CC/Track, Soccer, Softball, volleyball). You would never see sports...

Perception to black recruits and their families

this video from the middle of the night answered the questions I had from last night:

Drew Peterson opens his recruitment, decommits from Minnesota

I got $1 that says any second thoughts is related to the potential to license his image and likeness locally. It would be far more valuable locally than in NC unless he was NCs top player in the class or maybe 1-3 on the team.

He is NOT listed on their website for having signed yet: https://goheels.com/sports/mens-basketball/archives

Drew Peterson opens his recruitment, decommits from Minnesota

I think you are on the right track. I think they can sign a letter of acceptance, and until they do that I don't think the U can announce anything, i.e. for Robbins and Johnson the U released this...

Drew Peterson opens his recruitment, decommits from Minnesota

I am confident it has everything to do with the more likely than not, impending failure of the immediate transfer rule. I believe he could have signed on the dotted line 4 days ago when he committed (just as Robbins did) but he clearly either didn't want to or had agreed with Pitino not to...

    2020-2021 Lineup Breakdown

I think he has the most potential but don't think he was there at the end of the season. Hopefully sometime next season. I expect he will just keep getting better. I would say Carr, Robbins or Johnson will be our best players to start the season, but he could be our best player when the...

    2020-2021 Lineup Breakdown

You are probably more realistic than me. I just went with 4 because he averaged 3 last season, in the games he played, which weren't that many.

    2020-2021 Lineup Breakdown

Yeah, potentially a big flaw. The 10 minutes would be in every game compared to averaging 10 minutes last year but in just about ~1/2 the games? so it would be a net increase. I think he still needs to get a bit more gritty close to the basket and I don't see Pitino giving some of the deep...

    2020-2021 Lineup Breakdown

I see Pitino trying to get players more rest this year and ideally limiting minutes to starters to about 25 minutes/game if possible but this is likely optimistic especially for center and pg. There is so much more depth this year I think he will try to keep the intensity level up for the...

    Deja Woodard

Interesting question, my first reaction was yes, but I would have thought she would have been announced on the Gophersports website by now. I now suspect that they are waiting for academics to qualify her or the rumored fight in a game or some other reason caused the gophers or Deja to back...

    Questions for Coach Whalen?

What is the strength of each player? and the thing you want them to work on improving the most in the off season? What role do you see each player playing next year? What role on the team is most important for recruiting for 20201 that has not been filled by a commitment? Anything you would...

    Matt Haarms transferring from Purdue

Bingo, I agree, I like Freeman and think he could be a good player but I think he would benefit more than most from a redshirt year. He has been playing BB for such a relatively short period of time I think he needs more time to develop his potential. Please Freeman, stay and redshirt if you can.
