Joe Nelson: All of a sudden, Gophers' 2020 starting 5 could be really good

He's a co-owner of "Bring Me The News" and worked for several years at KFAN. He occasionally writes for their site. It wouldn't be the first place I'd go to for news, but it's not bad. He's also obsessed with severe weather and tornado chasing. This starting lineup can be scary good this year...

    Transfer list possibilities, Spring 2020

Zagoria is right there with Evan Daniels and Jeff Borzello in the recruiting world. He wouldn't throw that out there without some type of inside knowledge.

    JD Spielman. RTB?

He'd be the No. 2 WR behind Bateman. Spielman is the only receiver in Nebraska history to record 3 straight 800-plus yard seasons. The numbers he put up over 3 seasons show he's more than capable of being one of the better receivers in the Big Ten.

    Transfer list possibilities, Spring 2020

Good chance Gophers get Gach and Mutaf. RJ saying if Mutaf chooses the college route, it'll be Minnesota. But he could opt to stay overseas if he gets the right contract.

CBS: Five college basketball coaches whose jobs may have been saved by the coronavirus pandemic (#1. Shaka, #2. Pitino)

Pitino won't be let go next year either. The athletic budget will be 10 times worse this time next year than it is now. Gophers face a potential $75 million loss in revenue if football is delayed until early 2021, $30 million if they play in an empty TCF Stadium. Mark Coyle won't have the...

    Transfer list possibilities, Spring 2020

The vote on the 1-time transfer rule is tomorrow. As of last check it was not expected to pass, and most D-1 coaches don't want it to. I would expect waivers to be filed Thursday if they haven't been already.

Drew Peterson opens his recruitment, decommits from Minnesota

Peterson said the day after his commitment he hadn't signed any agreement regarding housing or financial aid, which is why the Gophers never officially announced his addition. The next day he re-opened his recruitment while keep the Gophers in the mix. RJ is hinting the smoke might be related...

Drew Peterson opens his recruitment, decommits from Minnesota

Plenty of smoke here. Kerwin Walton hasn't signed his LOI yet, and hasn't been officially announced by UNC yet. Perhaps he's having some second thoughts and Pitino knows that wing spot MUST be eligible to play next season.

    Greenlee

Stop with the ambulance chasing. Carr is coming back, he's told the coaching staff as much, he's in the draft process to get the info on what he needs to get more looks from scouts by this time next year. The NCAA vote on the 1-time transfer is May 20. I would be surprised if Liam Robbins...

    Drew Peterson commits to Gophers!

Peterson's game has been most often compared to Amir Coffey. He can drive, pull up from mid-range and shoot the 3. What I like most is if you watch his film, he gets his shot off quickly like Blake Hoffarber did. He also looks to be a facilitator. Pitino and the staff showed him film of Coffey...

All Things Class of 2020 Recruiting Thread

UNC board saying they would know by now of Kerwin chose the Heels, Arizona board saying Pitino/staff are going all-in on the stay home angle. Reading between the lines it appears UNC and Arizona are losing confidence he'll go to either. It'll be an interesting 72 hours...

All Things Class of 2020 Recruiting Thread

Carr will be back next season, at least that's what Pitino told the media according to what Carr told the coaching staff. Kerwin Walton is Pitino's top priority right now, has been for quite a while. In doing some digging on the Arizona and UNC 247 sites, everybody is in a holding pattern...

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

Nothing has been leaked because it sounds like he may not have made a choice yet. RJ saying this afternoon Kerwin is talking to Conroy and Pitino daily. The effort is being show, let's see how it all plays out.

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

RJ said this afternoon over on 247 he checked with multiple sources and not only has Kerwin not committed to UNC, he hasn't contacted any schools to tell them he's not coming there. Not to anyone's surprise, it's unofficially down to UNC, Arizona and the Gophers. He's rarely wrong, so I'm going...

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

Arizona was fully expecting to land transfer forward Charles Minlend and move on from Kerwin, but Minlend chose Lousville last night out of nowhere. They weren't even in his top 7. Anything is possible right now. There are a bizarre range of thoughts on Walton on the UNC 247 board. Some don't...

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

From reading the Arizona 247 board it appears they've moved on from Kerwin and are confident they can land a forward similar to or better before his April 25 announcement. I'm not sure UNC will have a scholarship left in that time frame either. My gut tells me it's between the Gophers and UNC...

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

UNC is expected to get a commitment from a transfer forward tonight from what I read this morning. Gophers are absolutely without a doubt still in play, and Kerwin without any doubts is Pitino's top priority and has been for a while.

All Things Kerwin Walton Recruitment Thread (Class of 2020)

Interesting talk on the Arizona 247 board. Last week, Walton was a lock to commit there. Now, they're pretty confident he's NOT going there and they're getting a transfer wing. UNC has two 4-star wings committed and he's not likely to be a starter there. He controls his own destiny with the Gophers.

    Brandon Johnson Commits

There's 1 scholarship left, and it's Walton's to take. He's been Pitino's top priority for some time now. I'm guessing the parties involved with Willis leaving have known for some time.
