Will some teams get backup bids if COVID keeps hitting?

Virginia and Kansas both got hit. That could push them out of the tournament in favor of other teams. Is this why Pitino hasn't been fired yet? We maybe get a COVID bid?

If it goes to a few more teams, you have to wonder if they don't delay the tournament a week.

Not a bad suggestion, but don't think it would matter anyway. Other teams are going to get hit as well. With spring break upon us, people rushing to go to the bars etc., there is going to be an uptick of Covid for a while in my opinion. It will be interesting how it plays out.
 


Not sure they'll delay the tournament a week. The lack of foresight on this is funny. Could have initially started the tournament like 10 days AFTER selection sunday but didn't. Not like Lucas Oil Stadium has a bunch of concerts to plan around.
