OK, I would first like to state that the season isn't over. Honestly, there are still quite a few chances for quality wins on the schedule, starting with this weekend against Michigan State.
With that said, I think the last 3/4 months have been extremely cruel to Minnesota basketball fans. It all started waaaaaaay back when scout.com reported that Mbakwe might not play this season. He quickly refuted the rumor and, well, guess what? He won't play this season. Then, boom! Royce White finally gets caught stealing, because we all know behavior like that doesn't manifest itself overnight. So, the Gophers whimpered into the season and plowed through the early cupcakes before taking us to the climax of the year: A solid victory against Butler where Colton Iverson had a "breakout" performance. Two days later, no one was talking about beating Butler. Instead, it was all about troubling losses to Texas A&M and even more so, Portland. An almost forgivable loss at Miami and then back to the cupcakes and into the Big Ten season we went. Three wins in four Big Ten games — including a rather convincing victory against Ohio State with Turner — and things were looking up. Then, Hoffarber disappears off the face of the planet, the Gophers lose two straight (low-lighted by a defeat at Indiana) and people are talking NIT with unbeaten Michigan State coming to town. But then Murphy's Law really kicked in and Minnesota's starting PG, team leader and top perimeter defender will likely miss the rest of the season due to poor grades.
But hey, at least we can start "threading" about Royce White returning to practice.

all we can do is focus on the positive.
We can watch the Gophers win another NIT Title on ESPN in Madison Square Garden...
See if the Cobbs and Devoe and maybe even Iverson can develop
Say goodbye to Westbrook who has one break through game a season
Hope that Cory Joesph is our PG of the future
Wish the last of the rest of the Dan MONSON recruits farewell and hope they get a degree because they don't have much future in professional ball at any level.....

Hoffarber and Nolen will still be here and I'm still not buying the NIT nonsense.
