And because I did go to school sometimes - my Mythology classes with Solomon who was hilarious and History classes with Prof. Kieft who was outstanding. We gave him a minute long standing ovation at the end of the last class.

Remember doing it for Basketball games at halftime. Still hard to believe they would let you leave and come back in, even in those days. Was awesome though.

Sparky's had more bodacious tata's in spades than Grandmas, and was the meat market for meeting girls . B dub's pitchers of beer and the cheap wings, Big 10 pitchers of beer, popcorn and Turkey Subs, basketball games against Purdue, Indiana and Bucky where Williams arena sound was so loud it made you deaf and the benches and the floor would shake when the barn started rocking.

1) The unmatched subs and quarter tap night at Big 10
2) Getting into Station 19 without any proof of ID
3) Killing hangovers on the weekend by laying on the couch and watching sports, with zero responsibility for anything or anyone else
4) The smoking hot Playboy Girls of the Big 10 girl who checked IDs at the Centennial cafeteria
5) Falling asleep in the stacks at Walter Library while purportedly studying

1) $ 0.25 Tap night at Big 10 on summer nights
2) Going out to Sally's for lunch with classmates and not returning to afternoon classes
3) scenery on Thursday night Ladies Night at Sally's
4) Grandma's Saloon on Friday nights
5) Being in the Williams Arena student section during Big 10 games

In no particular order...

- Living in the dorms. At the time, I couldn't wait to get a place off campus. But the dorms really were a blast. We won't have anything like that again until we're all in the nursing home together.
- Playing in hockey band.
- Bullwinkle's every Thursday.
- Turning 21 and venturing out to such faraway and exotic destinations like The Viking, Tracy's, & Sportman's.
- That time Big Wu played Spring Jam

I didn't go to the U, but a private school in the Twin Cities...
1) Playing football with teammates who became best friends
2) All the girls I thought I had a chance with, dreamed to have a chance with, and that I got.
3) Zero responsibility... wondering how in the world someone could have class so early...9am
4) Thinking it is perfectly normal to go grocery shopping at 10:00 at night
5) Waking up at 11:00 on a Sunday morning and rehashing the night before with my roommates.

1. Sitting in the front row of the balcony on the red line for every hockey game at Williams Arena from 1974-1979/going to National Championship hockey games in Denver and Detroit.
2. 2am drunken excursions to White Castle.
3. The chili in the Alice B Shevlin Hall basement.
4. Sneaking onto the playing field at Memorial Stadium after midnight with my girlfriend.
5. New Year's Eve party at the Sigma Nu house 1975.

Williams was hot as hell in the middle of winter too if it was a big game (late 90s). I always struggled when choosing to wear a coat and/or sweater on on the cold commute to the arena then sweat off ten pounds in the student section, or freeze on the way there in a t-shirt but be comfortable inside.

Big Ten Subs.
Sleeping in any day I chose.
Drinking hard/late w/ no hangovers.
House Parties.
Dorm Food.

Blondie's doesn't make your list?

1.Bucket Night at The Brick House
2. My usual spot at Wilson Library
3. Gopher BB at Williams in ‘82
4. Exiting Bierman after practice
5. All those decades out in front of you.

- Sally’s on Fridays and Saturdays (often also on Thursdays). The Daily was located just above Sally’s at the time and I’m pretty sure I bought the first beer (one of many) in the establishment when it opened.

- Evans Scholar parties

- Walking thru campus every day

- New classmates every semester

- Diversity of places to hang every weekend — Dinkytown, Stadium Villiage, Downtown, Cabooze, First Ave, Northeast bars... Such a rarity to have all that almost within walking distance of a huge university campus

Playing 3 man IM basketball and losing a game by 100.

Listening lounge in Coffman. Bowling in Coffman. Eating $1 hotdogs at Coffman.

Getting in a snowball fight with Iranian protesters (Death to the Shah, Death to America)

Dick Tracy’s Saloon on the north side of I-94 across from Auggie. Not too far from Zantigo

Augsburg winning the NAIA hockey title and being the stat guy.
