Wolverines Wire first out of the gate:

6. Minnesota

It took a long while and turnovers really hampered the Gophers, but eventually Minnesota did what it was supposed to do against Michigan State.

Jordan Nubin was excellent at running back for Minnesota, and Athan Kaliakmanis, despite having an in-game injury, played well in a gutsy performance. The defense was stellar, and this is another team that could win the West.

Go Gophers!!

Hawkeyes Wire chimes in:

5. Minnesota

Last Week’s Ranking: 8

Week 9 Result: Minnesota 27, Michigan State 12

Record: 5-3 (3-2 Big Ten)

Up Next: vs. 3-5 Illinois on Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m. on BTN

Minnesota keeps finding a way to win games and now find themselves leading the West division race. It hasn’t been pretty at all, but P.J. Fleck does deserve some credit for guiding the team through a pretty rocky start.

Go Gophers!!

Rutgers at #3 is stupid and will be lucky to win one more conference game, but otherwise a solid list.

Buckeyes Wire chimes in:

8. Minnesota

Why the Ranking

All of a sudden P.J. Fleck’s crew is rowing the boat toward a bowl game perhaps. The latest is a business-like win over Michigan State. The Spartans may have mailed it in this season, but the Gophers were dressed as the dog biting the leg of the postman for Halloween on Saturday.

Last Result | Won vs. Michigan State, 27-12

Next Up … vs. Illinois

Go Gophers!!

Nittany Lions Wire chimes in:

7. Minnesota

Last game: Won vs. Michigan State, 27-12

Jordan Nubin, who was filling in for Minnesotsa’s top rushers due to injuries, may have come out of nowhere to turn in one of the best rushing performances of the weekend. Nubin carried the football 40 times for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns in Minnesota’s win over Michigan State.

Previous ranking: 8

Next up for Minnesota: vs. Illinois

Go Gophers!!
This is possibly the worst ranking of them all. Minnesota has the same record and beat two of the teams above them head to head.
