University of Minnesota football coachP.J. Fleck announced the team's Nektons of the Week today. The Gophers just completed their second first week of offseason workouts and Jordan Nubin(offensive), Rhyland Kelly (defensive) and Jack Henderson(newcomer) received the weekly honors.
Nubin played in 10 games last season and saw most of his action on special teams. He did rush nine times on the season and gained 26 yards. He redshirted in 2021 and did nto see game action as he changed positions from defensive back to running back. He then made his Minnesota debut against New Mexico State in 2022 and rushed five times for 16 yards. Nubin carried the ball two times for three yards against Western Illinois and gained seven yards on two carries against Colorado
Kelly redshirted in 2022, which was his first year in college. He competed in one game, as he saw action against Western Illinois.
Henderson enrolled at Minnesota in January 2023 when two seasons of eligibility remaining after spending three years at Southeastern Louisiana. He played in 33 career games at Southeastern Louisiana and made 163 career tackles (93 solo), 12 tackles for loss, two sacks, 13 pass breakups, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
