I couldn’t find any clips from 1982 but this team from 1980 was pretty stacked. The game has changed so much with 3 point line and shot clock. Plus the referees paid very close attention to traveling

That was awesome!

• The Barn was packed! The sound of the cheer for McHale's introduction was louder than anything I've heard at the Barn during an actual game in the last several years
• Judging by the age of some of the current season ticket holders, I bet some of those people had their seats 40 years ago
• Man, McHale was great
• Loved the old commercials, they bring back happy memories of my childhood
• Weird seeing a Purdue game without Keady as head coach
• Watching Kevin Stallings play on the same day he received a show cause for coaching violations from the NCAA is wonderful symmetry
• Fred Taylor didn't look...comfortable...on TV

Glad you enjoyed it too! I was only ten when this game was played so I don't have a lot of memories of McHale as a Gopher, but man he could hit some tough shots.
The Barn was less than 50 years old at that time (almost modern )
