There is another thread that talked about the vegabond life these assistant coaches live. Perhaps it's as simple as that!
he coached in 2020... a lot of these assistant position coaches are now getting two or even three year deals, so he might have been paid last year
From Columbia, MO Trib: "Haley was hired in 2017 by former Missouri head coach Barry Odom and served as associate head coach in 2018 and 2019. After Eli Drinkwitz took the helm, Haley was one of three holdovers from Odom's staff, alongside Ryan Walters and David Gibbs.
Walters left Missouri to become the defensive coordinator at Illinois two weeks ago, leaving Gibbs as the Tigers' only full-time coach who's been with the program for more than one season."
