Item from the article (yes we already knew this; however, translating knowledge into success seems elusive):

Knowing that so many coaches had helped them out in their early years, the two wanted to give back. They established Coaching Full Circle as a limited liability company and landed their first client, Lindsay Whalen, who was hired by her alma mater Minnesota in April 2018 without having ever served as an assistant coach. Vanderbilt coach Stephanie White hired them before this season, and Clemson coach Amanda Butler asked them to plan and lead a three-day coaching retreat for her entire staff. (They are paid by the universities’ athletic departments, though Goestenkors and Ross declined to say how much.)

Vanderbilt, for example, doesn’t have a practice squad, so assistant coaches must help with drills when needed. That means they can’t pay attention to some of the finer points in practice, so each session was filmed, reviewed and sent to Goestenkors and Ross for additional feedback. They also made monthly trips to Nashville, Tenn., to watch practices in person.

“(It helps) being able to ask them questions,” said White, who was recruited by Goestenkors while in high school and had Goestenkors on her staff with the Indiana Fever in 2014. “How do we keep (players) motivated? How do we keep them competitive? How do we not oversaturate with scouts and really continue to focus on the things we focus on while still getting what we need to get out of the schedule? Just different things like that, that they have gone through on an elite level that they can help us with.”
