Sean Sutherlin scored 19 points off the bench against Purdue Fort Wayne and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field. In the past 25 seasons, only four other Gophers have scored as many points in a single game while not missing a field goal.

He was 5-5 last game then very late in the game missed a wide open layup. He has played well nice surprise

It's also unexpected for Sutherlin himself given his previous D1 season at New Hampshire. While at New Hampshire, Sutherlin was a stats stuffer but an inefficient shooter. This year for the Gophers Sutherlin has been as about as efficient of a shooter as anyone could possibly expect. I'd be interested in hearing from him what he credits for the significant improvement but I don't expect that's a question he'll be asked.

You could see from his stats at New Hampshire (he racked up a lot of them) that he likely was a very active player. His style of play is kind of like an undersized, but pretty effective, combo 3/4. Just goes to show you that quickness and efficiency often can counteract a size disadvantage.
