Inexperienced players Devon Williams and Maverick Baranowski have been thrust into starting roles in all six games this season. A year ago, they were the No. 8 and 9 linebackers on Minnesota’s total tackle list. Williams had two tackles and Baranowski one.

Go Gophers!!

I mean college teams being forced to rely on inexperienced players really isn't a new thing.

Williams was entering his third year so he should have been expected to be in the mix some this year. Baranowski is being thrust into duty early due to some bad luck on the injury front with Lindenberg and LeCaptain hurt.

Would have been nice if Oliver had stuck around but we did bring in Selig, and Henderson kind of plays like a LB in a lot of situations.

The portal makes it more likely you may lose players in this day and age but it also provides an easier path to bringing in experienced replacements as well. So kind of a wash unless you lose a potential star player like a Bucky Irving to the poachers.

Why did Braelen Oliver leave, again?

He would've been on the field every defensive snap, this year.
