In its great 1965 season, the Twins opened their season at home a little early: April 12th. Played their 4th regularly-scheduled game of the season on April 18th. This year, the Twins will be playing their 21st regularly-scheduled game of the season on April 18th (to accommodate excruciatingly long season followed by excruciatingly long playoffs and world series). So, I guess Gopher spring game on April 4th is in keeping with current trends.
