So, I know the NCHC has shootouts at the end of overtime to determine a winner. I have heard rumors that the Big Ten is thinking about doing this as well. Any truth to this? Shootouts are fun and everything, but I dont think I would like to see it in the college game. Seems to manufactured for tv ratings.

Check out my reply in the unintentionally-bumped Big Ten News thread

I agree with DL. I think shootourts are a garbage way to end a game. It is roughly the equivalent of settling a basketball game with a game of horse. Its fun for all star games, but I don't think should impact games that actually count.

I hate shootouts to a T, and don't like them at all.

+1 on the dislike of shootouts. I would perfer to have games decided on the ice in actual game format.

At least with the 3-2-1-0 point format, it is a little more fair.

You have to earn the 3rd point on the ice.

hope we don't go to shootouts. would rather see a 4 on 4 ot instead of that if they are hell bent on generating more offense and getting more games decided
