From Friday, 8/26.

some notes:

* deepest defense we've had, guys who have played, guys emerging

* Terrell Smith has really emerged, just needs confidence to perform and respond from any failures

* Nubin and Rush looking really good

* Jah Joyner has taken a huge step, he has flashed in past with pass rush but now doing great job in being phsyical against the run

* Danny Striggow has moved up in the pecking order

* Don Willis has flashed a lot, but is now more consistent in his performance

* Darius Green another guy stepping up

* Justin Walley needs to make the next step up to be the guy that opponent sees on film and says not going to throw or run his way

getting to see week zero NMSU film is huge

* Flip Dixon is a big body nickel....can match up with big WR

* points out proudly his 2021 defense was #1 in nation in avoiding explosive gains

* Oliver playing at highest level he's played at, most consistent he's been

* Lindenberg doing a really good job, had some great practices recently

* Howden has looked really physical in run game, in past he has been one of our better tacklers getting guys down in open space, now he is bigger, stronger and more physical, good growth and progression in his game
