Kill has said several times recently that you win with defense and that's why we concentrated our recruiting on that side of the game. What exactly does that mean? Did he tell Limegrover to not try hard until we get our defense in and coached up? This doesn't make any sense. It's not like a draft and we decided not to use our first 3 round picks except on defense.

Probably means the coaches who recruit areas (which is what the majority of our coaches do) spent more time recruiting defensive players than offensive players and some of the athletes they got in their first few years were put on defense instead of offense.

It means that they allocated a higher number of scholarships in their first few classes to defense than they would normally do if the program was stable.
