Does anyone know when MSU last won the Big Ten? Watching them play last weekend made me wonder when it was and I couldn't come up with an answer. I could be wrong, but I don't ever remember them winning it in my lifetime and I'm 32. I'm just curious.

They were co-champs with Michigan, Illinois and Iowa in 1990, but Iowa got the Rose Bowl.

The last time MSU played in Pasadena was 1987. They beat Indiana to clinch the Rose Bowl, and Hoosier coach Bill Mallory famously went over to the Spartan locker room afterward to deliver this awesome speech:

Wow - didn't know about that Malory speech. What an awesome piece of Big Ten lore.

It almost makes me want to congratulate the Hawkeye and Badgers the next time they go to the Rose Bowl. Almost.
