P.J. Fleck almost suited up for his sworn enemy in basketball.

During an appearance on Mike Hall’s “On The Bench” podcast, the Gophers head coach revealed that he was recruited as a walk-on by the Badgers.

Ultimately, it didn’t work out and he played college football for Northern Illinois. You can listen to him break it down below.

Go Gophers!!

The road to pj being the badger coach is being hewn as we speak.

Fleck came to his senses. He clearly doesn't represent the culture that is currently is in Madison.

Funny, I saw PJ as more of a baseball player but, ya know

How could it have been Bo Ryan ? He was not the coach the year he visited. When the Kohl Center opened it was at least 3 years before anyone even knew Ryan would become coach !

Alvarez is too much of a control freak. It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where Fleck would want to work for Alvarez or Alvarez would want to hire him.

"Almost played basketball at Wisconsin" Is a stretch. "Pj wanted to play basketball at Wisconsin" is more accurate.

Fleck as one of those pesky Sconnie point guards gives me the creeps.
