Purdue got approximately 150 free throws to NW's 8 last night in an overtime win. Chris Collins went ballistic late in OT, got 2 T's and an ejection. National hullabaloo follows, B1G looks terrible.

There is zero chance the B1G doesn't make up for that abomination by giving NW every call Saturday at the barn.

Two days away and blaming the refs has begun.

Meh its just as likely that due to Collins roasting one of their own, that the refs stick it to NU again.

Just win the game.

Is it normal for all fan bases to assume the world is engaged in giant conspiracy against them, or is it unique to Minnesota? Gopher fans especially seem both conspiratorial and thin-skinned.

Every fan base does it. Every fan base has level headed fans and fanatics.

If we lose by less than 20, it's because the refs screwed us...

They beat Ohio St by 25, who beat us by 10, and they just went toe-to-toe with Purdue.

Just be prepared for reality.

Hey, if they win, let that be a pleasant surprise!

The calls are crumbling🤪

I really hope your first name isn’t Paul, because your admonitions are nothing to be revered 🥸

I think this is a reasonabe question. As it is in the whole rest of society, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

basketball is a game of adjustments - and one of those adjustments involves adjusting to how the game is being officiated.

if you go out there in the first 4 or 5 minutes of the game, and the refs are calling every foul - the players and coaches need to understand that and adjust.

If you do "X" and get a foul - then you do "X" again and get another foul - stop doing "X" - it's that simple.

likewise, if you drive to the basket, there's a lot of contact, but no foul - you have to be prepared for that to not be a foul the rest of the game, and adjust your game accordingly.

a sign of maturity as an athlete is being able to adjust to different situations, including the officiating. if a player lets the refs get in his head, he's not going to be as effective.

Well, one thing is for sure; CBJ is not drawing any technicals.

The Izzo approach. . .even when you're getting the calls, act like you are not and continue to gripe at the officials at every opportunity.

Yep, I think NW might be the best team in the league and built for the best NCAA tournament run. Beating them would be huge. Split with Purdue and all 4 conference losses on the road at Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska, and WI.

In the case of NW and Purdue, it was more of when NW did "X" on the defensive end it was a foul, when Purdue did "X" on the defensive end it was not. Really no adjustment you can make at that point, just go CC on them when it's over and move on to the next. :)

...and Knight before him. Once you have a reputation as a good coach, just that cred will get you an advantage.
