Nebraska is trying to get out of playing Oklahoma on Sept. 18

Have to admit, Nebraska football is fast becoming a punchline. First, they toot their horns about "saving" Big 10 football in 2020, then complain about their resulting schedule being too hard and now this. What a clown-show.

There are two reasons for Nebraska wanting to cancel the opener at OU: Official reason is to eliminate a road game, add a home game, and get more revenue for a cash-strapped athletic department. Suspected reason is that Nebraska doesn't want to open their must-win season (for Frost) with an a$$-whipping by OU. If finances were the reason, you would think the cancellation talk would have begun months ago. That the cancellation talks started after six-weeks of spring workouts, where Frost got a good look at his team minus Wan'Dale Robinson, Luke McCaffrey, the big Farniok kid and others, makes me suspect that a$$-whipping avoidance might be playing a significant role. Nebby fans are outraged based on principle: Nebraska, if it is a real program, should never back out of a tough game. Not a good PR look for Frost and Moos, no matter what their real motive was.

The additional home game thing is 100% the Nebraska AD trying to spin this to make it look like they aren't running scared. Love that Oklahoma is calling them on it and saying they look forward to playing the game as scheduled.

Nebraska fans also condemning the decision in the beginning to cancel this game.
