without special teams returns and NE turnovers, MSU takes an L in East Lansing last month

Aren't turnovers a deciding factor in many, if not most, football games?

And why would we discount plays made by the special teams?

Sorry, I'm not following you.

Take away all the major plays and the game is completely different!!

Yeah. It's kind of like a recent post by a GopherHoler who pointed out that Fleck's coaching record would look a lot different if you threw out the 2019 season.

First off, MSU is about as overrated as they come. They are solid but they are much closer to a team that should be ranked in the 25-35 range than one that should be in the top 10.

That said, Nebraska kicked their a$$ in the second half of that game and would almost certainly have won if the Nebraska punter had not kicked the ball to the wrong side of the field allowing MSU to tie the game with a punt return TD. Just another in the long line of games in which Nebraska has found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The MSU game was part of the reason I was so sure they were going to find a way to f'up the Michigan game and they did not disappoint.

Exactly. It doesn’t work that way. Like saying is LeBron wasn’t so gifted physically he wouldn’t be a hall of famer

Well, it works that way on GopherHole.

Right now, Nebraska is a juggernaut. If the Gophers beat Nebraska, the Cornhuskers were obviously crap all along. Whiplash!
