Plus they couldn't handle Ustby or UNC's inside length or run an offense; but the Spartans had opportunities at the end

Hoosiers preview Fairfield:

Led by senior guard Janelle Brown and freshman forward Meghan Andersen, Fairfield boasts a fast-paced team-oriented offense, predicated on finding open looks early and often from all over the court.

“They share the ball extremely well and I think all of them have the green light,” Indiana head coach Teri Moren said Friday. “They play with a lot of freedom, a lot of movement, a lot of cutting, going to put pressure on us defensively.”

While Indiana’s bread and butter this season has been efficiency — leading Division I by shooting 51% as a team — Fairfield’s may very well be volume. The Stags attempt a staggering 26.4 3-pointers per game, most of which are opened up by a stark emphasis on driving to the basket to produce kick out looks.

That game plan is primarily facilitated by the dynamic Brown, who leads all Division 1 guards in field goal percentage, shooting 57.8%. Her ability to get to the rim in addition to Andersen’s paint presence provides Fairfield with a barrage of high-percentage looks from beyond the arc. Indiana graduate student forward Mackenzie Holmes commented on the Stags’ dynamic roster during her pre-game press conference Friday morning.

“We’ve had to really be focused in these last few days of prep of just locking in on knowing their personnel,” Holmes said. “We’re very much aware of how talented of a team this group is.”

Am I remembering correctly that Dominika Paurova is the overseas player who decommitted when Whalen was canned? She was incredible for Oregon State in their win tonight.
I believe you are correct. She looked pretty good for Oregon State. Nebraska survived Texas A&M. Should be a really good game between Oregon State and Nebraska in the second round.

Scalia took over the game and the crowd in the third quarter getting the Hoosiers back on track against Fairfield

Michigan and Kansas in OT 67 all. Michigan fouled and dribbled away a 10 point lead in the final six minutes

I was in South Bend today watching the Irish defeat Kent State. Fantastic atmosphere and sold out Purcell Pavilion . Next up is Ole Miss who could beat the injury laden Irish. They r down to 7 healthy players and had 3 players with 4 fouls today . Plus, they r in the same region as SC so no deep run for them this year.

Michigan was part of a weak Big Ten middle this season, especially as compared to last year's very strong middle. Kim Barnes Arico is really wasting Laila Phelia. Will be interesting if Phelia and next year's highly-ranked freshman can have a special season.

McMahon, (27 points) couldn't bring her team mates with her and Duke once down by 16 sprinted past the Buckeyes 75-63

TheBIG10 was not a strong conference this season other than the top 3, and it showed in the NCAA tourney.
Michigan State - OUT
Michigan - OUT
Maryland - OUT
Ohio State - OUT
Nebraska, Indiana, and Iowa. Nebraska and Indiana are in the South Carolina region, so no chance at Final Four for those two. Iowa is only BIG10 that could make Final Four. CC time.

Middle Tennessee State up by 4 at half. I doubt that they can maintain that but impressive play by them in the tourney.

Iowa has a very tough matchup tomorrow night in the hardest of the four brackets. West Virginia is by far the best # 8 seed this year (ESPN and CBS had them as a 6 seed; 21 NET, highest NET for an 8 seed in the 4-year NET era). West Virginia is also stylistic trouble for Iowa, which Iowa can't rightly complain about.

The game of the tournament thus far, Iowa State and Stanford head to OT at 66
Agreed this was the most competitive game of the tournament so far. Both teams had a chance to win in regulation before the OT. Stanford was more aggressive on offense and rebounded better in OT. Hopkins kid was good on the boards for Stanford when they needed some clutch rebounds. Impressive freshman this game.

The women's bracket it the epitome of chalk. Hopefully some more intriguing outcomes will play out in the 2nd round.

Impressed with both Agara and Woodson this year as freshman from Hopkins.
