per Sandell:

A loss to TCU did nothing to derail the Gophers from one of their primary goals this season- a Big Ten West division title. In fact, they may have gained a few admirers with the statement showing from their defense on a national stage. However, Minnesota must quickly redirect its focus on navigating the rest of the nonconference schedule unscathed before launching into a Big Ten schedule ripe with opportunity.

Picking up win No. 1 on the year next week at Colorado State will certainly not be a cakewalk. Gone are the head coach (Jim McElwain - now at the helm of Florida) and quarterback (Garrett Grayson) from the Colorado State team that went 10-3 last season, but under new coach Mike Bobo, former offensive coordinator at Georgia, the Rams remain a contender in the Mountain West conference.

The Gophers have little margin for error in their recovery if they want to kick their season into the next gear.

"We ain't got time to feel sorry for ourselves, but I think we have good enough seniors to understand that," Kill said. "Again, we played the No. 2 team in the country and had a chance to win. Sure, they should be disappointed."
