With a former moniker, and a former coach I posed the question why high school athletes didn't enroll in summer school, take some classes, get the lay of the campus, work out, get in some drills and take a running start into the season.
The biggest reason given in the hole back then was that no high school player would give up the summer following graduation.
Flash forward. All the recruits are on campus, working with Coach Hill, taking a class or three and it has become the norm. This simple change leads to better strength and conditioning, teamwork, and I dare say academic improvement.
